Powers:

Dimensional Travel (i): Claire has the ability to cross from one plane of existence to another, and does so often. She can wield this power at intensity 10, and typically uses it to transport herself between earth and Hell. However, she's not limited to this particular path, and can likely appear in any dimension where her particular skills are needed.

Enhanced Senses / Philosophical Awareness (w): though Claire lacks enhanced senses, per se, she does wield the extrasensory power of philosophical awareness. Essentially, this sensory ability grants her the power to look at a body and determine their primary philosophical bent (good, evil, order, chaos, or balance). She wields this power at intensity 14.

Fire Control (i): one of Claire's new, demonic powers is the ability to generate and control vast waves of fire and heat. Working at intensity 12, this allows her to either fire blasts of flame or dampen existing flames by her power intensity. She hasn't demonstrated any power stunts with this ability as of yet, but since she no longer ages, it's only a matter of time before she does so.

Invulnerability to Fire, Heat, and Aging (s): Claire's demonic power over flames includes an inherent immunity to such energies. She can now ignore flames of any intensity. Furthermore, she seems to be effectively immortal, as long as she's not physically slain (again), so the aging process is likely a non-issue for Claire now.

Life Drain / Psychic Vampirism (i): as a demonic entity, Claire now has the ability to feed upon the life essence of others, effectively consuming their souls. She does this at intensity 8, and each successful attack against a target's Willpower score will drain an amount of points from said target's Willpower equal to this power intensity minus their current willpower score.

Mind Control (w): Claire has shown the ability to influence the thoughts of lesser men - often as a lead-up to an attack on their bosses. She uses this power with intensity 8 skill, making most weaker men unable to defend against her domination. She can do this with an easy Mind Control (willpower) action, and only needs check again if forcing someone to do something against their character.

Regeneration / Healing (s): though most of her powers involve destroying evil-doers for her master, Claire has shown evidence of sympathy for those who are innocent, and actually has the power to help them. Working at intensity 10, this power lets her soothe their wounded bodies - so much so, in fact, that she can actually regenerate lost limbs for others with time.

Hindrances:

Monstrous: though she wears rather slinky clothing most of the time, and apparently has the physique to do so, Claire's visage is inherently demonic, in that she has arched eyebrows and facial skin that appears slightly too tight. Should she show her face to mere humans, Claire has zero (0) Willpower for the purposes of keeping Edge zero (0) folks from fleeing instantly.

Skills:

Occult (i): as a 'psychic' before her untimely demise, and now as an extraplanar entity, Claire can be considered a natural with this skill, which represents her knowledge of the supernatural, including folks that walk in magical circles, forgotten lore, and artifacts of great power. If something occult is occurring, it's quite likely Claire knows what's behind it.

Calling:

Demolisher: after she was reborn as Satan's custom soul collector, Claire quickly evolved into a woman that delighted in the deaths of others, especially evil folks that she slays in the service of Satan. She doesn't do this to protect innocents or to destroy evil - she simply does it because she can - and because she likes to!!

Costume:

As the Black Widow, Claire wears a reddish-black, form-fitting shirt with a black widow on it, rather short shorts of the same coloration, and black boots with a flaming yellow fringe on the top. Oh, and a blue and green cape. Not much, of course, but it works.

Personality:

Claire Voyant was an okay person before her death. Once she was in Hell, she became a particularly sadistic and hateful being, not at all like other 'heroines' of her time. She positively delighted in the death of evil mortals, and arranged them with glee.

She didn't do this to stop the advance of evil, mind you, but because she could kill and get away with it.

Real Name: Claire Voyant
Occupation: minion of Satan (really)
Legal Status: American citizen who is legally dead
Marital Status: single
Alias(es), if any: Madame Claire
Group Affiliation: none

Height: 5' 9"
Hair: blond
Eyes: brown
Weight: 127 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: she had a definitely diabolical look about her, with those arched eyebrows and the skin on her skull, which looked too tight. Oh, and don't forget the skulls that appear in her pupils when she kills folks.

Story:

The Black Widow's story began with the clairvoyant Claire Voyant (really), a psychic medium that is in the process of helping a family 'talk' to their dead father. Instead of manifesting his spirit (or a reasonable guess therein), Claire changed. Her eyebrows arched. Her skin got tighter on her skull.

Oh, and Satan was hovering over her shoulder. Really.

Speaking in the voice of Evil, Claire channeled a curse against the family that she was formerly trying to 'help'. Freaked out by all this weirdness, the family left, though the evil that is Satan blew their car off the road, killing all but one member of this family.

Believing Claire to be an evil witch, this last guy vowed to kill her, with subtle prompting by evil Satan himself, who watched as the homicidal man returned to Madame Claire's abode and abruptly gunned her down in a murderous rage.

As Claire died, Satan manifested himself in her home, frightening her murderer away. He then collected Claire's remains and took them through a 'path of eternal fire', a path that ended on a great ziggurat in Hell, where Satan raised Claire anew as the Black Widow!

After this, Satan gave the new Black Widow a tour of his house of pain, which included views of the souls of the damned, lots of fire, and other stereotypically hellish things. Claire then left Hell under her own power, in order to get revenge upon the man that killed her.

Manifesting upon the earthly plane behind her killer, who was himself mourning his dead family, the Black Widow slew her murderer by branding a black widow onto his forehead with her fearsome powers of fire. She then returned to Hell, her revenge complete.

She was subsequently sent forth from Hell to claim evil souls for Satan, those he couldn't wait to collect due to natural causes. The first was Garvey Lang, who she softened up by slowly turning his minions against him, or alternately tricking him into killing them himself.

She later ambushed Lang at a costume ball, and in front of an entire room full of his friends, killed the train-robbing mastermind outright. Branding her mark into his head as she did her own murderer, Claire then vanished with little fanfare, returning to Hell.

Claire next appeared on the earthly plane when charged with the collection of the souls of two traitorous munitions manufacturers, who were selling the wares to both the Axis and Allied powers at the same time. Posing as a girl asking for a job, Claire got the two separated.

She then slew the first of the dealers, Lewis, an act the second witnessed when checking up on his partner. Though he put up a better fight than his cohort, Sykes also fell to Claire's violent ministrations, the two being left dead with her mark to show they were evildoers!

Her subsequent missions saw her claiming the souls of many other murderers and evildoers, which Claire seemed to exult in - of course, she took time out of her busy, mayhemous schedule to protect and heal the innocent bystanders caught in the middle of her fights with criminals.

She apparently continued to do her master's work for the duration of World War II, claiming the souls of various villains of a particularly evil stripe, and thus making the world a better place - probably an unanticipated side effect of the mission Satan gave her...
