Human Top F A S E R I P Res Pop Gd 10 Ex 20 Gd 10 Ex 20 Gd 10 Gd 10 Gd 10 Gd 10 Gd +10 Health: 60 Karma: 30 Origin: Davy Mitchell is an altered human, one who was exposed to bizarre energies as a young man thanks to the meddling of the diabolical Agent Axis. Not only was he not harmed by said exposure, but he'd gained fantastic powers that he used to fight evil as the Human Top! Known Powers: Whirlwind: Davy's main power is his ability to create a massive whirlwind about his body by spinning at extremely high speeds. He has this power at Remarkable (30) rank, which allows him to utilize the following effects: * Tornado: the air around Davy, as mentioned above, is moving about at tremendous speeds, and anybody within the same area as Davy (while he's spinning) will take Remarkable (30) Blunt or Edged attack damage. The damage type depends on whether or not stuff is flying around in his tornado (edged=stuff, blunt=no stuff). Furthermore, Davy can lift up to one ton of weight with this tornado (a Remarkable (30) amount of mass). Furthermore, Davy can use his tornado to grapple opponents, keeping them suspended in the whirling air around him. This is a Remarkable (30) rank Grappling attack, but once a target is caught, it requires a Monstrous (75) Strength (or applicable power) FEAT roll to escape. * Super Balance: Davy has developed an unbelievable sense of balance (kind of necessary when spinning at Remarkable (30) speeds). As such, he is effectively immune to the effects of dizziness or vertigo, even if induced by super powers. * Armor: while the whirlwind is in place, Davy is effectively shielded from certain types of harm. He has Remarkable (30) resistance to physical attacks (BA, BT, EA, ET, Fo, or Sh) while spinning, as the wind blunts the force of incoming damage. * Multiple Attacks: Davy's Fighting score is considered Amazing (50) for the purpose of multiple attacks while spinning, as he can make up to three melee attacks per turn while his Whirlwind power is active. In addition to the tornado effect, even! Equipment: (none) Quirks: (none) Talents: Botany: a former floral arranger and delivery guy, Davy needed a basic knowledge of plants in order to simply tell them apart. His Reason score concerning planty matters should be considered +1 CS compared to others of like intellect. Martial Arts Type E: as fast as he was, Davy sort of had this martial art style by default, which boosted his initiative rolls by 1 every turn of combat (unless he rolled a 1, of course), assuming he was fighting in an unarmed fashion. Trivia: Davy Mitchell was an avid baseball fan and often used quotes eluding to baseball, both in regular life and while working as the Human Top. As such, his Reason score (concerning any sort of baseball matter) should be considered +1 CS. Contacts: After World War II, Davy joined up with the new V-Battalion, a group of heroes from the War dedicated to hunting down escaped Nazi war criminals. He can easily rely upon them, and his former Kid Commandos allies, for assistance should he ever find himself in need. Costume: While active as the Human Top, Davy wore a somewhat simple costume. It consisted of green and black striped, stretch fabric trousers, a green and black striped stretch fabric shirt, the latter of which had a blue collar, green and black striped boots, and a blue belt. Once he joined the V-Battalion and retired from perpetual action, Davy used two different costumes. The first included an ankle-length purple overcoat with red cuffs under a black leather belt and a large, red 'V' shaped collar, and red leather boots. When not operating 'outside', he wore a primarily dark blue spandex body suit, which was accessorized with red buccaneer boots, red and blue gloves, red and blue boots, a red 'V' shaped belt, and a red and white 'V' shaped collar with a blue and white cape attached. Personality: Empowered as a side effect of a bizarre Nazi's scheme, Davy vowed to use his newfound abilities to fight those villains with everything he had - happily doing so both during and after World War II. He's quite an avid baseball fan, knowing everything there is to know about the sport. Real Name: Davy Mitchell Occupation: adventurer, former floral delivery man Legal Status: American citizen with no criminal record Marital Status: married (possibly) Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the V-Battalion, former member of the Kid Commandos Height: 5' 6" Hair: black Eyes: brown Weight: 145 lbs Other Distinguishing Characteristics: none Story: Little is known about Davy's history, save that he was an orphan who quite literally stumbled into the kidnapping of a then-critically wounded Toro from the Pacifica General Hospital. A witness to the hero's abduction by Agent Axis, Davy was also taken hostage by the fiend. As it turned out, Agent Axis had several other captives as well, including Bucky and a Dr. Sabuki, whom he'd intended to perform a bizarre procedure to split him into his three component selves; the villain was in fact three separate Axis agents somehow merged into one. Strapping Davy and Sabuki's daughter, Gwenny Lou, onto the equipment Dr. Sabuki was using, Agent Axis never got to see his plan bear fruit, as the injured Toro woke up and attacked almost immediately. In the ensuing fight, the equipment Davy and Gwenny Lou were strapped to exploded! Instead of killing them outright, the bizarre energies released actually gave the two youths super-human powers. Davy himself gained the ability to spin his body at amazing speeds, a skill he decided would come in handy as a super-hero in his own right... the Human Top! The four angry super-powered beings chased Agent Axis off, even though two of them were freshly empowered, and went about tracking him down. Finding him at the same War Relocation Camp Dr. Sabuki was abducted from, the four teenagers soundly trounced the man. Of course, this 'Agent Axis' turned out to be Namor in disguise, who for some reason thought it would be prudent to use the identity as a good test of the youths' power and conviction. Of course, the Sub-Mariner said he 'only' used the amount of power that Agent Axis had access to. Nonetheless proud that they managed to defeat the legendary hero, they decided to stick together... as the Kid Commandos! The quartet were mostly active domestically, fighting Nazi infiltrators, attending war bond rallies, and working hard to boost American morale. Davy and his fellow Kid Commandos performed these duties for the remaining duration of the second World War. Soon after, Davy was recruited into the V-Battalion, a squad of former World War II super heroes bent on capturing every last escaped Nazi war criminal. He served as a 'regular' operative of this team for a time and eventually earned a place on their Penance Council, though he seems to have left this role in time. At first it seems he was replaced by his son, the Twister, and then his grandson, Topspin. He nonetheless serves the cause of the V-Battalion to this very day!
