Asbestos Suit: her claim to fame, the Asbestos Lady's costume is, in fact, made out of asbestos. This flame-proof material essentially gives this dastardly villainess +10 resistance to fire and heat attacks, allowing her to go toe to toe with the likes of the Human Torch and Toro.

Guns: the Asbestos Lady also carries around two pistols, each of which can be used as +3 weapons in her hands. Presumably, these slugs are made of asbestos (or lined with such), allowing them to ignore the flaming sheaths of the Human Torch and Toro.

Skills:

Chemistry: the Asbestos Lady, despite her faults, is a competent chemist, and was able to brew up her own asbestos fabrics for use in her war with the Human Torch. She can identify chemicals by various sensory means, and should lower the difficulty of chemisty based Intellect actions by one level.

Calling:

Vengeance: you have to ask? Almost her entire adult life has been dedicated to the utter destruction of the Human Torch! She'll do anything - anything - to avenge the death of her brother, and that means destroying the android hero and anybody that gets in the way of this disturbed quest!

Costume:

The Asbestos Lady's, well, asbestos suit was a primarily green affair, consisting of a green, long sleeve shirt and tight, green leggings. She also wore green gloves, green leather boots, a blue studded belt, a blue studded collar, a purple cape, and a purple executioner's hood with yellow eye slits.

Personality:

The Asbestos Lady has been depicted as something of a man-hater, doing what she can to carve a place for herself in the criminal underworld despite its predominantly male population. However, she is also obsessed with the utter annihilation of the Human Torch, and this goal drives her every action.

Story:

Not very much is known about the bizarre villainess known to the world only as the Asbestos Lady. However, one thing that's for sure is that she hates the Human Torch... with a passion! With every intention of doing battle with that android, she designed for herself a costume made from asbestos, which basically made her immune to fire while she wore it.

Eventually, the Asbestos Lady would hear about several advancements in 'asbestos science' that Fred Raymond had developed, and she wished to have these secrets for herself. To this end, she tried to force Fred into joining her growing gang, but the Human Torch had been watching Raymond's home in case such an attack took place (knowing the Asbestos Lady and all).

After she was repulsed by the Torch, the Asbestos Lady decided to bump off the Raymond family in revenge. Thanks to a train wreck she arranged soon after her defeat at the Torch's hands, the Raymond family ironically died in a fire - all but the youngest Raymond, Thomas, who was apparently immune to the fire which resulted because of that wreck.

Intrigued, the Asbestos Lady kept an eye on the youth after he joined a circus act (taking advantage of his immunity to fire), but she was again waylaid by the Human Torch. The hero defeated her and, mustering all the firepower he could generate, melted her boots to the asphalt road nearby, leaving her to be collected by laughing policemen.

Some time later, the Asbestos Lady's criminal minded brother was captured by the Human Torch and Toro (Thomas Raymond), and later hung for his crime. Having gone insane with rage, the Asbestos Lady launched several other schemes intending to specifically destroy the flaming duo of heroes. She was captured after each one failed, but her rage kept pushing her to go after these 'murderers'.

Using the Asbestos Lady in Other Stories:

Though a relatively minor super villainess, the Asbestos Lady was one of the few non-Nazi foes the Human Torch and Toro ran across during their war-time adventures. She didn't care for any underlying philosophy, only wishing to destroy her hated foes. As such, she could easily hatch more hare-brained schemes to do the duo in once and for all.

In the here and now, if the original Asbestos Lady hasn't received some bizarre re-origin to explain what she's been doing since the forties, could simply be replaced by another Torch hater, one that could either pursue the original Torch or the newer, human one that works with the Fantastic Four. Of course, she'd need a new reason to hate the Torch (either one)...
