Solo Villains

Though not as notorious as, say, the Super-Axis or Battle-Axis, most of these lonesome villains worked by themselves to further their own agenda, be it that of the Nazi regime or their own twisted aims. Many of these fellows were merely second stringers, and had a rather unremarkable criminal career.

However, a rare few of these terrors have managed to turn the world on its head. Global nightmares such as the Red Skull have not only caused unimaginable havoc in the Golden Age, but survive to do so in the present day! Known solo villains from this age include:

Agent Axis: this nefarious Axis agent was in fact three separate men, all of whom were merged into a singular, terrible entity in a freak accident while in flight. Though granted three times the power of an ordinary man, he is also cursed with a fractured, querulous mind. Agent Axis comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Asbestos Girl: a shrewd man-hater, the Asbestos Girl has been driven to new heights of loathing by one man above all others: the Human Torch! Humiliating her time and again with embarrasing defeats, the hero has earned a singular place in the blackened core of the Asbestos Girl's heart. Asbestos Girl comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Brain Drain: a brilliant if morally dubious scientist, Werner Schmidt was crushed by a falling space craft shortly after duplicating the American Super-Soldier Serum. Being rebuilt by his masters in a terrifying robot body, he returned to curse the world as the bizarrely frightening Brain Drain! This villain comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Cold Warrior: Professor Will Sinkovitz was an up and coming cryogenics expert that was duped by an earth-bound Skrull operative into turning his impressive technology against the heroic 3-D man, as he was led to believe the red and green warrior was in fact a communist operative... The Cold Warrior comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Gary Gaunt: top notch criminologist by day and monstrous troublemaker by night, Gary Gaunt was an ordinary man until, while in a concussed daze, he accidentally drank an experimental formula that causes him to transform by night. While he seeks a cure for his malady, his inner monster aches to be free! Gary Gaunt comes in Classic and Saga styles!

the Green Terror: emerging from the darkest depths of Africa, the strange post-human known only as the Green Terror is bent on extending his nigh-immortal lifespan ever further - even if it requires the consumption of vast quantities of human blood to do so! The Green Terror is available in Classic and Saga styles!

Iron Cross: though opposed to the Nazi party, Helmut Gruler was a German patriot who followed orders despite his reservations. After acquiring his Iron Cross armor, he began to hatch various plots to arrange the ruination of the Allies and their countless, foolish (to him) super heroes. The Iron Cross comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Komtur, the Teutonic Knight: Franz Gerhardt was a religious fanatic before the War broke out, a firm believer in the tenets of the Teutonic Knights. Torn between his faith and patriotic motives, he snapped, donned a suit of golden medieval armor, and rampaged as a reincarnation of Komtur, the Teutonic Knight! Comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Matsu: a mysterious, dangerous Japanese spy and saboteur, Matsu serves the Emperor of his land with a truly ruthless efficiency. His cool-headed cunning has seen him assigned to various operations in the continental United States, where he has faced off against several of that nation's heroes. Matsu comes in Classic and Saga styles!

Tiger Man: when his arms were destroyed in a factory accident, Hertz began a regimen of exercise to master the use of his feet and teeth as replacements. Slowly growing unhinged, he tried to destroy all machinery he could find - and his government turned him loose in the heart of America! The Armless Tiger Man comes in Classic and Saga styles!
