Damon Conquest (deceased) Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 6x 4x 6d 8c Hand Size: 4 (25) Edge: 2 Origin: Unlike most empowered individuals on his world, Damon Conquest was granted his powers via the special abilities of another. Thanks to his father, Daedalus Darquill, Damon has become a psychoturge, perhaps the only such being resident in his entire timeline! Powers: Natural Psionics (Psimantic Powers): Casting (a) (w): the basic psionic Daedalus Darquill activated within Damon's mind, this power lets him understand and manipulate probability enough to cast magic spells! With an affinity for philosophical corruption, Damon can cast spells of intensity 16 or less. Schooling: Novice / Philosophical Magic (corruption) When his casting ability was activated by his father, Daedalus Darquill, Damon showed an immediate affinity for the casting of philosophical magic dedicated to corruption. But then, he'd already been corrupted by dear old Dad, helping him to master these spells so far: Aura / Corruption (s) (a): to protect himself from assault, Damon may unleash the corruption within his soul, wreathing his entire body in it. This intensity 8 spell provides protection per a sorcerous or karmic force field, and inflicts like PF damage on contact. Dimensional Transit (d) (i): though he has been drawn into the Far Side by his father, Damon has since mastered the art of building two-way portals between there and the real world. He may craft these extradimensional corridors with intensity 6 capability. Eldritch Bolt / Corruption (u) (a): sparked by his own, corrupt essence, Damon may cast the psychoturgical power of corruption itself at his foes. This sickly green, bleak force can strike others to inflict intensity 16 PF sorcerous or karmic damage with every blast. Energy Absorption (p) (s): the lynchpin of Darquill's plan to spread his influence, this spell allows Damon to literally absorb the psychoturgical energies released by those succumbing to corruption. Damon can perform this unique sorcery with intensity 16 skill. Universal Windows (s) (i): the better to spy upon his many enemies while plotting their demise, Damon can open doorways between reality and the Far Side that only allow sound and light to pass through to him. He may wield this spell with intensity 12 prowess. Hindrances / Augmentations: (none) Equipment: Conquest Dynamics: the source of his family's wealth and power, Conquest Dyanmics is the legal vehicle through which Damon's father acts to spread his power across the earth. While Daedalus Darquill owns the corporation, Damon Conquest is its chief executive officer. Skills: Business / Finance (w): the public face of Conquest Dynamics, Damon is well-versed in modern finance. Running the corporation even before dear old Dad became a frighteningly powerful paranormal, he should receive a reduced difficulty on actions related to business dealings. Crime (i): highly placed within his father's criminal empire even before the White Event supercharged it, Damon is highly proficient in most modern criminal means. Whenever he's attempts criminal subterfuge, Damon should resolve applicable card play at a reduced difficulty. Manipulation (w): like his father before him, Damon is a master manipulator. Sure, he's not quite as insidious as Daedalus Darquill, but Damon has a knack for slowly but surely getting under someone's skin, and should receive a reduced difficulty on efforts to manipulate others as he sees fit. Contacts: The ostensible head of Conquest Dynamics and second in command of Daedalus Darquill's legions in the Far Side, Damon has numerous contacts in both financial and criminal circles. And that's not even counting all the personal minions Damon has cultivated over the years. Calling: World Domination: like his father before him, Damon Conquest yearns for influence over others. At the same time, he knows his father is the means through which he can attain incredible wealth and power in the real world, so he'll cheerfully do his bidding without question. Costume: When active on earth, Damon typically wears conventional business attire, suits of various style and color. However, while working in the Far Side, Damon often makes use of dark blue boots and a dark blue cape with an oversized collar, worn over a light blue stretch fabric body suit. Personality: Evil to the bone, Damon's already sinister tendencies were twisted by Daedalus Darquill until he exults in his illicit behavior like a cackling cartoon antagonist. Not that Damon minds, for he's always craved Dad's approval above all else, doing his bidding without question. Real Name: Damon Conquest Occupation: CEO of Conquest Dynamics, Daedalus Darquill's lieutenant Legal Status: citizen of the United States with no known criminal record, legally deceased Marital Status: unrevealed Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: prince of the Winterlands Height: 5' 10" Hair: strawberry blonde Eyes: blue Weight: 175 lbs Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Damon has particularly bushy eyebrows. Story: Much of Damon Conquest's history is as of yet unrevealed, but it is known that he worked closely with his father, Daedalus Darquill, in all aspects of his career. And Darquill's career involved all manner of illicit activities, including the international trafficking of drugs. Heavily corrupted by his father, Damon gleefully engaged in assorted crimes at his father's direction, serving as the public face of the family corporation: Conquest Dynamics. This firm was apparently founded by Darquill using the proceeds from his drug trade, which were plentiful. Using his drug money, Darquill engaged in the hostile takeover of other corporations, generating still more profit that he funnelled back into his criminal operations. This was highly lucrative, but ultimately caused Conquest Dynamics to attract the attention of the Justice Department. Before the government could move on the company, however, the White Event occurred. This bizarre astronomical event bathed the world in paradoxical energies, energies that altered one out of every million or so people in some fashion. Damon's father was one of these individuals. Granted vast psionics during the White Event, Darquill's mind buckled under its vast expansion, and he retreated into a bizarre fantasy-themed delusion that his powers made manifest. Completely out of his mind, Darquill drew his own son into this false reality, the Far Side! Subjected to his father's powers, Damon was warped in both mind and body, and granted inexplicable sorcerous powers as a result. Exulting in his new mystical powers of corruption, Damon was twisted into a strange caricature of a corporate criminal, almost cartoonish in nature. Still loyal to his father, however, Damon continued to support his many illegal activities, both on earth and in his father's inexplicably tangible new reality. While Darquill remained in the Far Side, it fell onto Damon to actually manage his day-to-day criminal operations. In the process of keeping Darquill's drug operation running, Damon picked out new talent he thought his father could use, sending them into the Far Side to be molded as Darquill wished. Some individuals imported in this fashion included Tattoo, who worked out well for Darquill. Others, however, were disastrous. Chief amongs Damon's bad choices was John Tensen, a Justice Department narcotics agent looking into Conquest Dynamics. He was working undercover as an employee of the company, but Damon was able to see through his deception. Thinking he could be turned Tensen to his father's cause, working within the government to keep them at bay, Damon drugged the man and shoved him through a portal to the Far Side. Waiting to reshape his mind on the other side, Darquill was surprised at Tensen's sudden resistance! As it turned out, Tensen was also affected by the White Event, given psionics almost as powerful as Darquill's. A psychic assault in a higher dimension was just what was needed for them to manifest, and while they were poorly controlled, Tensen managed to escape using them. Drugged and partially deranged, Tensen wandered through the weird world that Darquill's madness had generated, causing problems for the villain until he could arrange for his death. This effort didn't actually kill Tensen, however, merely kicking him back into the real world. When an amnesiac Tensen reappeared in New York City, himself warped by the false reality of the Far Side, it fell upon Damon to deal with this loose end. To start with, Damon sent some of his father's diabolical Hounds to kill Tensen, who was currently in police custody. After this failed, Damon braced for Tensen's inevitable assault on his person at Conquest Dynamics. When Tensen indeed arrived to deal with Damon, the two did battle for some time, the result of which saw Damon wounded by Tensen with a gun, his powers having grown unreliable. When he next faced Tensen, Damon was still recuperating in his father's Baja California mansion. Used as a hostage by Tensen while the deranged lawman fought his father, Damon was pulled into the Far Side when Darquill and all his underlings fled the joint to escape Tensen. Having captured Tensen's love interest as they retreated, Rebecca Chambers, Damon took it upon himself to turn her to Darquill's cause - much as he tried with Tensen before. Rebecca lacked special powers, however, which made warping her mind a much easier affair this time. After tainting Rebecca's soul with his corruption magic, Damon then resumed his direct war with Tensen. Thrusting him into conflict with Klane the Dark Justice to further corrupt the so-called Justice Warrior, Damon absorbed the energy generated when Tensen killed his foe in anger. Thinking Tensen a non-issue after this, Damon resumed his more mundane operations on earth, further expanding the family drug operation. This continued until Darquill, using the power Damon had been collecting on earth, finally completed his weird narrative within the Far Side. Seeking to end Tensen's threat once and for all, Darquill had Damon send Rebecca to kill the man. He'd started remembering his life before Darquill's attack, after all, and Darquill simply couldn't have that. Of course, Rebecca died in the attempt, prompting more extreme measures. When he opened another portal to earth from the Far Side, intending to overwhelm Tensen with his father's Hounds, Damon was shocked to see the man leap through the portal to face him directly. This prompted a rematch between the two mortal enemies, this time in Darquill's realm. Though he fought hard, Damon was ultimately outclassed by Tensen, who ended his threat at long last. The Far Side itself was destroyed soon after, when Tensen (with the aid of Nightmask) finally exacted justice upon Daedalus Darquill as well, causing the Far Side's dissolution.
