Whether he was altered by the strange astronomical event known as the White Event, or the utter annihilation of Pittsburgh commonly referred to as the Black Event, Fireballer is a paranormal being. Doing well in the super-power lottery, he developed the ability to cast fire!

Known Powers:

Fire Generation: his sole parability, Fireballer (or Orel, as he's called) can chuck small balls of flame at others. He can do this with rank value 20 ability, inflicting SD Energy damage with every assault, though it's unknown if he has mastered any other tricks with this power.

Skills:

Sports / Baseball: formerly a professional pitcher for the LA Dodgers, a major league baseball team, Fireballer naturally possesses this skill. He should receive a +1 RS when attempting any baseball-specific ACTION rolls, which includes 'pitching' his fireballs at others.

Contacts:

Feeling rejected by former friends and family as a result of his paranormal nature, Fireballer has thrown in with the Forsaken, who welcomed him with open arms. Having a modicum of fame, Fireballer raises the group's profile somewhat, and he can consider them a reliable contact.

Costume:

Unlike many of his more colorful compatriots, Fireballer doesn't seem to wear a specific ensemble while 'on the job'. During his sole appearance, he wore a lime green jacket over a white T shirt, brown trousers, possibly with a belt, and black leather shoes.

Personality:

Formerly a successful Major League Baseball pitcher, Fireballer is bitter about the untimely end of his career. Having lost friends, family, and fortune after developing his paranormal powers, he constantly grouses about how he misses LA, and how the Dodgers are useless without him.

Born in Buffalo, New York, Orel and his family moved around between the States and Canada during his formative years. Adopting a love of sports, Orel played baseball and hockey as he grew up, and went on to join the baseball team in college at Ohio's Bowling Green State University.

Though his academic record wasn't great, his pitching skill saw him signed in the 1979 draft by the LA Dodgers. Moving up from the minor leagues in 1983, Orel regularly saw play that year, though he was famously bawled out by coach Tommy Lasorda on the pitcher's mound at one point.

While he was having an award winning season in 1988, Orel had something else going on at the same time, a problem he desperately tried to hide. You see, Orel was a paranormal! Whether it came from the White Event or the Black Event, Orel had manifested a destructive parability.

Now capable of generating fire, which he could generally emit in the form of fireballs that he could toss, Orel wouldn't be able to keep a lid on his paranormal status for long. And as it turned out, the revelation of his parability wound up utterly ruining Orel's life.

Though the exact nature of this calamity has yet to be revealed, Orel subsequently lost his career, his fortune, and his family life. Going from being on top of the world to a veritable outcast, Orel grew bitter enough to leave everything behind, and walked the earth for a time.

Disappearing shortly thereafter, Orel was homeless for a time. He eventually resurfaced as a member of the Forsaken, recruited by Judge Mental who exploited his sullen bitterness, and Orel quickly settled in at the Terminus - the Forsaken's Coney Island headquarters.

Though he wasn't necessarily criminal minded, Orel fell in with the underworld paranormal organization, disregarding his morals as he grasped at some sort of community. As such, he was present when the Judge's bailiff, Seraph, murdered the adventurer known as Captain Brooklyn.

Ordered to dispose of the Captain's grisly remains, Orel joined Dog O' War in burying them in the sand nearby. The two were interrupted in this by John Tensen and his daughter, Angela, two paranormals working for the National Security Council who were investigating the Forsaken!

While Orel and his cohort put up a fight, they were no match for the former Justice Killer, and were quickly defeated. When he resisted Justice's questioning, the antihero kicked Orel in the head, knocking him senseless. Justice then overthrew the Forsaken's leadership while he was out.

Whether Orel stayed on with the group or left for greener pastures has yet to be revealed.

Chronology: Justice # 32.
