Cromar Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 5x 14x 14d 15x Hand Size: 3 (17) Edge: 1 Origin: While he didn't start out as a Transformer, Cromar was built by them. Eventually growing to full sapience while performing his function, he became a full-blown Cybertronian himself, possessing a plethora of special abilities relating to his inorganic, electromechanical existence. Powers: Cybertronian Physique: the swfit Cromar is one of innumerable mechanoid life forms hailing from the planet Cybertron. Like most of his fellows, Cromar is possessed of a variety of special powers stemming to his alien physiology, including the following: * Body Armor (s): made (or formed) from primarily metallic materials, Cromar is considerably durable. His sturdy, inorganic composition affords Cromar intensity 4 (+1) protection from attack, enough to let him ignore most human assaults. * Growth / Shrinking (a): the sizes of Cybertronians are all over the place - and some can even change that quality at will. Cromar, for instance, stands at eighteen feet tall, give or take a foot. He thus has intensity 6 'growth' to account for his volume. As such, this Autobot spy possesses a +6 size factor. Cromar thus suffers a -6 when targeting human-sized foes, but gains a +6 on any damage he inflicts against them. Conversely, human-sized foes assaulting him do so under the reverse of those modifiers. While this assumes a static volume, many Transformers have demonstated that their size can be highly variable. This reflexive, dynamic size manipulation is an emergent property of Transformers overall, though such mass displacement must surely consume vast amounts of power. These dynamic volume shifts are most often used when transforming, and enable Transformers to interact with beings of differing sizes without further modifications being required of them. This ultimately allows Transformers to wield or ride within their fellows seamlessly. * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision (w): Cromar can see things very, very far away. He possesses this ability at intensity 13, an enhanced visual capacity that allows him to spy objects up to twenty-five hundred miles distant, as long as they are in his direct line-of-sight. * Radio Transceiver (i): as are most Transformers, Cromar is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Cybertronian within a wide radius of his person, having intensity 7 range (100 miles). However, while flying in orbit over a world, Cromar can greatly increase his transception range. With such high ground, Cromar can send and receive radio signals with intensity 14 ability, letting him communicate (or just relay) signals within 25,000 miles of his person. * Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison (s): as an inorganic life form, Cromar possesses complete immunity to poisons and organic diseases. He also possesses intensity 30 (+7) resistance to more chemically creative forms of disease. Flight (a): his principal function, Cromar can fly! He can achieve intensity 8 speed in a conventional atmosphere, equating to approximately 375 MPH, raised up to intensity 17 (30,000 MPH) when Cromar ascends first to low-earth orbit, then into geosynchronous orbit. Shape Change (a): while he developed a humanoid mode upon becoming sapient, Cromar couldn't originally transform. His functional mode is a space plane, a durable vehicle with espionage applications, and while serving as one Cromar possesses intensity 8 flight! Hindrances / Augmentations: (none) Equipment: Blaster (a): Cromar has no inherent weaponry, at least thus far. As a result, he often carries a sidearm with him while on the job, because you can't always outrun the enemy. This weapon, a blaster, can inflict his Agility +5 in concussive damage per powerful blast. Skills: Detective / Espionage (i): built as a reconnaissance drone, Cromar has continued this line of work since he attained sapience. He is allowed a reduced difficulty on attempts to gather information, whether doing so from above or when using more traditional methods. Contacts: Though he's a recent addition to their ranks, Cromar is an Autobot who works hard to earn his new allies' trust. His earnest support of their effort against the Decepticons has earned the Autobots' trust, and he may consider that faction of Cybertronians a reliable contact. Calling: Youthful Exuberance: while his job may seem a thankless bore, Cromar pursues it with wide-eyed joy. He is happy to do his part in the fight for freedom, having witnessed countless atrocities from on high, even if he finds himself lonely for long stretches of time. Likeness: In his vehicular mode, Cromar looks like a black and chrome space plane with red engines, one that resembles nothing ever built by human hands. When he transforms, Cromar resembles an eighteen foot tall robot constructed from the parts of the previously described aircraft. Personality: Cromar hasn't experienced untold years full of hardship and heartbreak like his fellow Autobots, but he can readily sympathize with their plight. After all, nestled in low-earth orbit while spying on their enemies, Cromar saw many the various atrocities they regularly commit. Wanting to protect his newly developed friends after he acquired full sentience, Cromar continued the work he was built to perform for the Autobots. While on the job, Cromar is often alone for long periods of time, his only contact with others through his radio transceivers. On occasion Cromar has the company of Cosmos and/or Jetfire while he's working, but for the most part he's used to soaring over the planet by himself. But he truly doesn't mind, because Cromar's efforts help to spare others from the seemingly endless Decepticon aggression. Real Name: Cromar Occupation: aerial intelligence operative Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron with no known criminal record Marital Status: inapplicable Alias(es), if any: Communications Relay and Orbital Mission Area Reconnaissance Group Affiliation: the Autobots Height: 18' Hair: inapplicable Eyes: yellow Weight: several tons Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Cromar is constructed of primarily black and chromed steel, with red accents in place. This red takes the place of his engines in his vehicular mode, and his lower legs and head in his robotic configuration. Design Notes: I built this description of Cromar using tech specs released a few years back for him and various other early mail-order Transformers. I am told by the Internet that these are based on official biographies written by Bob Budiansky for the old comic, but never actually used. Some of these specs line up with others I've uncovered over the years, so I can only assume they are accurate. If they aren't, then what I've concocted is irrelevant. But, they're all I have to go on, so I'm going to roll with it, if only to cover Cromar for the 13 somehow.
