Megatron Melee: RV 75 Coordination: RV 10 Brawn: RV 50 Fortitude: RV 50 Intellect: RV 100 Awareness: RV 75 Willpower: RV 75 Health: 185 Fortune: 250 Lifestyle: RV 50 Repute: RV -20 * * Amongst humans, at least. RV +100 to fellow Decepticons, RV -100 where Autobots are concerned. Origin: Megatron, founder and leader of the Decepticons, is a Transformer. This mechanoid entity hails from the planet Cybertron, whose inexplicable inorganic evolutionary crucible ensured that Megatron (and all of his ilk) possess numerous abilities that can only be considered super-human. Known Powers: Cybertronian Physique: one of the oldest and most powerful of Transformers, Megatron possesses all the abilities common to beings of Cybertronian origin. By dint of his very nature, Megatron benefits from the following, ascendant capabilities: * Body Armor: whether he was formed or forged, Megatron is comprised of primarily metallic substances. This rock-solid, inorganic construction provides Megatron rank value 20 protection from incoming assault, which breaks down as follows: RV 20 / RV 6 / RV 2 / RV 0 / RV 0 * Growth and Shrinking: Cybertronians don't care what you think about basic principles such as volume. In his humanoid configuration, for example, Megatron stands at an impressive twenty-four feet tall, which grants him the power of growth at rank value 10. As such, the Decepticon leader possesses a +2 size factor. Megatron thus suffers a -2 RS when targeting human-sized foes, but gains a +2 RS on any damage he inflicts against them. Conversely, human-sized foes assaulting Megatron do so under the reverse of those modifiers. While this assumes a static volume, many Transformers have demonstated that their size can be highly variable. This reflexive, dynamic size manipulation is an emergent property of Transformers overall, though such mass displacement must surely consume vast amounts of power. Megatron in particular is a prime example of this. When wielded by others, Megatron cannot grow any larger, but can shrink until his size factor is equal to his wielder's - minus three. He would thus have a size factor of -2 when held by Starscream, for example. * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: although he tends to discount that which is lesser than he, Megatron can nonetheless perceive the very small and the very far away with ease. He possesses both of these powers at rank value 2, allowing him great visual acuity. * Radio Transceiver: since you can't speak in the depths of space, most Transformers are equipped with a radio wave transceiver. This allows them to communicate with each other at considerable distance, functioning with rank value 20 power (100 mile range). * Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison: inorganic by design, Megatron is completely immune to organic plague and toxins. He also benefits from rank value 100 resistance to such dangers that manifest in more chemically creative forms. Energon Mace: when merely crushing the life out of an opponent just isn't enough, Megatron can retract his left hand, and issue forth this weapon in its place. When swinging his energon mace (on its energon chains), Megatron's melee attacks inflict Force damage. Fusion Cannon: his primary weapon in either configuration, Megatron has the ability to fire this nuclear-powered energy cannon to great effect. This weapon inflicts rank value 100 Energy damage in his humanoid configuration, raised by +1 RS in his Walther P38 form. Power Boost: Megatron can bolster his already lethal fusion cannon by momentarily drawing antimatter through a built-in, interdimensional portal to a black hole. This increases its damage by 2 RS for 1d10 turns, but adds considerable recoil to each shot it fires. Shape Change: his signature power, Megatron has the ability to transform his humanoid body into that of a Walther P38 9mm semi-automatic pistol. When so transformed, he can fire himself, but usually allows others to wield him, to counter his shoddy coordination. When in his P38 mode, however, Megatron can add optional components that increase his visual acuity considerably - or, at least, that of whoever is currently wielding him. His scope adds a +1 RS to his telescopic vision for his wielder, and his stock adds a +1 RS for them to hit. Limitations / Enhancements: (none) Equipment: Infrared Laser Cannon: since there's no kill like overkill, Megatron occasionally carries a laser weapon bigger than a human. Even though he transforms into a gun! This weapon can be used to inflict rank value 50 Armor Piercing Energy damage with each deadly blast. Sword: though equipped with an energon mace for melee, Megatron sometimes wants to thrash a foe (or discipline an underling) with style. And who would refuse Megatron such an indulgence? This ornate, oversized weapon allows Megatron to inflict +1 RS in Slashing damage. Quirks: Jealousy 3: perhaps the defining trait of Megatron's personality, aside from his staggering arrogance, is his lust for power. He craves power over others, wanting nothing more than to rule all that exists, and Megatron attempts actions to restrain these desires at a -6 RS. Talents: Manipulation 2: Megatron isn't an inspiring leader. No, he's instead a master manipulator, moving his Decepticon minions around like pawns on a chess board as big as the cosmos itself. He should receive a +2 RS on any ACTION required when pulling the strings of another. Military 2: Megatron excels where Optimus fails in the arena of military tactics. Though some of his schemes are harebrained in nature, Megatron nonetheless knows how to effectively deploy his many resources and weapons to win a battle of any kind. Contacts: Though some of his lieutenants believe they could do a better job than he, and often actively plot his demise, Megatron is the undisputed leader of the Decepticons. The vast majority of his underlings do his bidding without question, for to do otherwise would mean their doom. Likeness: Regardless of his form, Megatron is an imposing being of black and stainless steel. His towering humanoid configuration is built to instill awe and terror in others, while his alternate mode is literally a living weapon - regardless of its current volume. Personality: Founder and leader of the Decepticons, Megatron craves power above all else - the rest of the universe is simply a means of acquiring more. Possessing destructive power and a malevolent charisma beyond that of his peers, there is little to stop Megatron from getting what he wants. Except, perhaps, for Megatron himself. Though he is possessed of unbridled ambition, Megatron is also saddled with Herculean arrogance, and is often the author of his own defeat when he overestimates his own brilliance - or underestimates the skill and resolve of his many foes. A master manipulator, Megatron rarely has to do very much, for he can easily motivate his Decepticons into doing his bidding. Sure, he likes to personally cow Autobots and anyone else foolish enough to oppose his will, but usually Megatron's underlings jump at the chance to do it for him. This because they both fear and hate Megatron, which is just what he wishes. By encouraging the Decepticons' various ill passions, Megatron slowly molds their very sparks into the core of what he perceives to be a perfect army, and the best part is that they don't even know it. Not even his would-be replacements.
