Astrotrain Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 12x 17d 13x 11x Hand Size: 4 (25) Edge: 2 Origin: As do most Transformers, Astrotrain hails from the alien planet of Cybertron! Having come into being on this metal-heavy rogue world, Astrotrain has several special abilities that define his physical existence, as well as some super-human capabilities unique to his configuration! Powers: Cybertronian Physique: drifting through the cosmos in our galactic neighborhood, Cybertron is a dense, metallic world starkly different from our own. As a native of this strange planet, Astrotrain has numerous powers common to his fellow Cybertronians, such as: * Body Armor (s): whether born or built there, Astrotrain is a Cybertronian life form: one of the Transformers! Comprised of durable inorganic materials, Astrotrain possesses intensity 8, or +2, protection from incoming assault, natural armor that is proof against most attacks. * Growth / Shrinking (a): as are most of the Decepticons, Astrotrain is tall! He stands at around eighteen foot high, which means he has intensity 3 growth as a means of describing his sheer volume. As such, this Decepticon thug can easily trounce human-sized foes. But Astrotrain's volume is not constant. When he transforms into either of his vehicle configurations, Astrotrain swells in size somewhat, allowing him to properly represent the scale of such modes. He may grow even larger if he must accommodate Cybertronian passengers, too! * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision (w): it benefits Astrotrain to be able to see things far and wide, considering his typical vantage point. He benefits from intensity 2 iterations of these powers, allowing him to spy objects much smaller, and much farther from him, than usual. * Radio Transceiver (i): sure, Astrotrain can hear and speak like normal. However, he's often worlds away, and as such relies upon the use of a powerful radio transceiver. This gear works at intensity 17, giving it a maximum transception range of 250,000 miles. * Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison (s): Astrotrain's frame is built primarily out of alien metal and other exotic substances. As such, he's immune to carbon-based plague and toxins, and has intensity 20, or +5, resistance to other forms of disease and poisons. Flight (a): when in his space shuttle configuration, Astrotrain can fly incredibly fast. He can move through space with intensity 19 ability, easily reaching escape velocity, and can achieve a top speed of 50,000 MPH once he escapes orbit. Resistance to Fire and Heat (s): since he must survive reentry unaided, Astrotrain has numerous heat shields lining his space shuttle form. The advanced materials that comprise these shields ultimately offer Astrotrain intensity 20, or +5, resistance to these forms of damage. Shape Change (a): even more than most Transformers, Astrotrain's form is fluid. This is because he's one of the rare triple-changers, having three distinct modes with which to punish his foes. In addition to being a humanoid, he can become a space shuttle! Supplementing those two forms, Astrotrain's third configuration is that of a JNR Class D51 steam engine. Though he can't fly in this shape, he can move at up to 400 miles per hour on tracks that can handle such velocities. This translates into intensity 8 ground speed! Hindrances / Augmentations: (none) Equipment: Ionic Displacer Rifle (i): this devastating weapon can disrupt the molecular bonds of metallic substances, acting as a highly specialized disintegration beam! With every blast, Astrotrain can inflict intensity 10 metabolic damage to metal-laden foes of all kinds. Skills: Astrogation (a): though he primarily remains within the gravity well of whatever planet he's currently active on, Astrotrain is occasionally called upon to fly further. As such, he has learned his way around the cosmos, and can resolve card play related to space flight at a reduced difficulty. Contacts: Astrotrain is a valued member of the Decepticons, and has most of that electromechanical faction's respect. He can readily rely upon his fellows for assistance in a pinch, because Astrotrain is usually doing the same for them, and they'd like to keep those favors flowing. Calling: Soldier: Astrotrain was born to fight. He craves battle, almost needs it. But he's almost exclusively called upon to ferry his fellow Decepticons around the universe on some errand or another, instead. Astrotrain hates this, but he does his job nonetheless. Likeness: Astrotrain is a huge electromechanical entity that is primarily purple in hue, with black and white added here and there, in all three of his forms. His complex transformations almost completely hide unused components from the two configurations he's not currently making use of. Personality: Living to sow confusion amongst the Autobots, Astrotrain readily transforms at the drop of a hat when engaging with those hated mechanoids. He is at his happiest when a given Autobot or Autobot force has lost track of just how many foes they're fighting when engaging with him. But Astrotrain doesn't get to do this all that much. Relied upon as a transport vehicle for his fellow Decepticons, Astrotrain doesn't get to engage in nearly as much combat as he would like. But hey, even if the job is boring, it's easy enough work most of the time. Real Name: Astrotrain Occupation: military transport Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron wanted both there and on earth for a variety of crimes Marital Status: inapplicable Alias(es), if any: none Group Affiliation: the Decepticons Height: 18' Hair: inapplicable Eyes: yellow or red, depending on the continuity Weight: several tons Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Astrotrain is a large, shape-changing mechanoid that is primarily purple in hue, no matter his current configuration. His humanoid mode includes white on the arms and torso, black and white added to the legs, and a large white cranium. As a JNR Class D51 steam engine, Astrotrain is primarily purple in coloration, with black armor over his actual engine. As a space shuttle, Astrotrain is also primarily purple, though he adds black and white on the roof and some of the sides, and a black, heat-absorbing nose cone.
