Dirge Strength Agility Intellect Willpower 8x 15x 15x 7d Hand Size: 3 (17) Edge: 1 Origin: Dirge is a Transformer, an electromechanical life form hailing from the planet Cybertron. A living cybernetic entity, Dirge has several special abilities that define his very existence, along with a plethora of unique offensive powers that reflect his transformation. Powers: Cybertronian Physique: Cybertron is a metallic world drifting an unknown and variable distance from our own planet. Having cradled the evolution of seemingly robotic life forms, Cybertron has granted Dirge numerous abilities that help him thrive there, such as: * Body Armor (s): whether he was born or made there, Dirge is a Cybertronian life form: one of the Transformers! Comprised of inorganic materials, Dirge possesses intensity 4, or +1, protection from incoming assault, inherent defense that is proof against most attacks. * Growth / Shrinking (a): as are most of the Decepticons, Dirge is tall! He stands at around nineteen foot tall, and thus has intensity 3 growth as a means of describing his sheer volume. This makes him highly effective against smaller foes for the most part. But Dirge's volume is not constant. When he transforms into his modified F-15 configuration, Dirge swells in size somewhat, allowing him to properly represent the scale of such a vehicle. He may grow even larger if he must accommodate Cybertronian passengers, too! * Microscopic / Telescopic Vision (w): it benefits Dirge to be able to see things far and wide, considering his usual vantage point. He benefits from intensity 2 iterations of these powers, allowing him to spy objects much smaller, and much farther from him, than usual. * Radio Transceiver (i): sure, Dirge can hear and speak like normal. However, he's often far afield of his fellows, and as such relies upon the use of a powerful radio transceiver. This gear works at intensity 7, giving it an ideal maximum transception range of one hundred miles. * Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison (s): Dirge's frame is built primarily out of alien metal and other exotic substances. As such, he's immune to carbon-based plague and toxins, and has intensity 20, or +5, resistance to other forms of disease and poisons. Concussion Missiles (i): supplementing his inherent machine guns, Dirge is also equipped with a powerful bank of air-to-air missiles he can use on other aircraft. These supersonic projectiles inflict intensity 11 force damage on impact. Emotion Control / Fear (w): Dirge's engines are tuned in a unique manner that produces vast amounts of both infrasound and ultrasound. These have the effect of inducing intensity 16 fear in those who hear it, if Dirge can pass an easy difficulty action opposed by their Willpower. Flight (a): his primary function, Dirge can fly! He can typically careen through the skies at approximately the speed of sound, having this power at intensity 10 in his vehicle mode, which translates into approximately 750 miles per hour. Machine Guns (a): his primary armament, Dirge is equipped with variable-caliber machine guns in either mode. These weapons can fire a short burst of ammunition to inflict his Agility +6 in damage, or his Agility +7 in damage when wielded fully automatic. Shape Change (a): easily his most notorious ability, Dirge can transform between a humanoid and a modified F-15. Featuring a delta wing and front canard, this exotic aircraft can soar though the skies with near impunity, and is armed with powerful concussion missiles. Hindrances / Augmentations: Combat Paralysis: typically, Dirge does not suffer from the effects of this hindrance. However, should whatever carefully laid plans Dirge has made go sour, he must pass an average difficulty Willpower action in order to keep his cool, and avoid seizing up with fear and indecision. Equipment: (none) Skills: Manipulation (w): though fear is a double-edged sword with Dirge, he nonetheless wieldes it like a scalpel. If attempting to intimidate others in any manner, Dirge should do so with a reduced difficulty on whatever ability score or power he is leaning on in that effort. Contacts: He may give his fellow Decepticons the creeps, but Dirge can definitely rely upon them for assistance should it become necessary. While they may find him unnerving, Dirge's allies nonetheless enjoy his participation in their efforts, for he easily demoralizes the enemy. Calling: Peace of Mind: Dirge never meant to be a soldier, and he isn't fit for the job. He nonetheless does what he's told, however, believing in the Decepticon cause. That and, of course, fear of the Decepticons' leader helps to keep Dirge from deserting at every opportunity. Likeness: Dirge is a tall electromechanical entity that is primarily blue and brown in coloration. Aside from his brown wings, the rest of his frame is blue in both configurations, save for large red indicators here and there, not to mention his black face plate, in his humanoid mode. Personality: Dirge is creepy! He stalks Decepticon bases with an unnerving silence, his mournful speechlessness making everyone else uncomfortable. Something of a victim of his own intelligence, Dirge stays in his head most of the time he isn't out blowing up something for Megatron. When he's in flight, however, Dirge expresses himself with a terror-inducing scream every time he fires up his jet engines. He's happy to inflict fear on others constantly, for it keeps his foes from acting against whatever high-concept plans he's made for their untimely demise. Should things not go as he foresees, however, Dirge typically seizes up in a panic while trying to come up with a new plan.
