(quick addendum: I never actually got this from Nate in my mail, since
Yahoo is retarded, so I'm adding it to the post I just sent... d'oh...)

(I guess disregard the last post for this one or somesuch. Sorry 'bout
that.)

You activate your magic sensing spells, Masque, and indeed see that the
reactor before you is seemingly composed entirely of Thaums. However,
upon feeling it, you notice that it feels rather insubstantial, in that
your hand has passed right through it!

It's either phased out of this layer of existence or an illusion.

Or something.

Of course, Magus already told you that.

In response to your comments, Magus, Joe simply shrugs.

"If it were ever there."

Joe seems less than thrilled at the prospect of a missing nuclear
reactor - if it's really missing. "Y'know, that's odd. The entire time
I've worked here, this thing's been here too. And I can't honestly say
that I, or anybody under me, has even touched it."

Joe then walks into the reactor. As though it wasn't there...

Those of you who've attempted to FEEL the reactor can see him still, the
rest cannot. You can also hear him say "Hey, my Frisbee!"

Soon enough, after Rebound makes his proclamation that you all should
follow Crimebuster, Och returns to the out-of-order restroom there, and
(while avoiding the copious amounts of blood on the ground) peers into
the portal that seems to lead to some icy cold otherwhere.

"Hmm."

Ken sidles up to the man, though in reality he's hovering an inch or two
above the ground in order to not touch any of the eerie blood on the
ground, and looks into the gateway to ... elsewhere. Elsewhere, that
is, unless there's an iceberg outside of the Chrysler building.

"That's interesting."

He then floats on through.

Moebius indeed catches up to you with her magical flight powers, and
gives you another crusty, evil look. "Slow... feh." She then zooms
past you. It's not like she knows where she's going or anything, but
then it's not too hard to spot the guy you're looking for.

Not too many purple hovercraft clipping buildings as they erratically
soar through the near-surface skies of Los Angeles.

You get closer to the vehicle as it comes to a stop, apparently since it
seems to be having problems remaining aloft. "Damn that insufferable
fleshling! He damaged this body's flight capacity all too well... it'll
take hours to fix this myself...! Argh!!"

Your high-speed flight ambush indeed takes Deion off-guard as he makes
his move on you, Charlie, allowing you to get in a good swipe with the
power staff. You don't quite take an arm off, but you may've rendered
one of them inoperative with your strike.

You seem to have left quite a burn trail down Deion's left arm in your
assault, you see.

"Aaaarg!"

Of course, he may be down, but he's not out. Deion winds up with his
right arm, and deals you a powerful blow in the diaphram, one that lands
you on the floor (that 01 couldn't have come at a worse time) and knocks
you back a good fifteen feet.

You think you broke a rib, 'cause you took a good FIFTY points of damage
from that one. It's a good thing you had time to heal during your long
flight home from... wherever you were at out in space, or else you'd be
out cold right now.

And dead a good twenty seconds from now.

As you lay on the ground, Riley has to open his mouth again.

"Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. Why fight like this? You know that Deion
is more than capable of killing you in a most effortless fashion.
Resisting my will is only going to accomplish a meager amount of
property damage, when you get down to it."

"Just give up and take it like a man..."

The Atlantean just sneers at your taunts. "Filthy surface man."

Before he can bludgeon you with his curious water cannon again, though,
you manage to turn your psychokinesis on him. Focusing your will, you
cause much of the potential energy with him to explode violently all at
once, and the transparent man crumples in agony.

"Aarrrrg!"

He doesn't seem unconscious, but his little aquatic tornado disperses,
and you can hear his fellows, the ones you'd ensnared in your psi-web,
suddenly grow quiet. Looking at them, you see that they're looking at
you with unabashed awe.

As though you'd defeated a god or something.

As it sits, though, the 'man' doesn't attempt anything else just yet.

At any rate, you arc in low and your aim is true, allowing you to tag
monsieur Starscream nee Sweep (or is that the other way around) with
your gravitic bolt; it seems to have little, if any effect, however;
that would be luck biting you in yer big bellicose butt.

"Pustulant interloper! Feel my wrath!" The angry sounding robot shows
a remarkable amount of emotion as it wheels around on you and fires its
disintegrator beam at you. You manage to dodge the beam's direct
effect, but your overcoat isn't so lucky.

You feel it vanish in a burst of subatomic particles. POOF!

"Hah! 'Cub get sub' indeed, human. You sound as though you have a cold
- or no nose... hey, wait a minute. You're no human!" Starscream then
transforms into 'his' robotic mode, brandishing some sort of blaster in
his right hand.

After she swoops towards Starscream in a ballistic arc in order to take
a flying swipe at him with her blade (and subsequently misses), Moebius
jets back up towards you. "Huh... sounds like he's got your number,
Gunslinger. He seems to know something about you - or your 'kind'..."

"That's barely the beginning of what I've got for you, Chicanery!"

Deion semes rather upset with you, Charlie, what with the horrible laser
burn you just gave him. As such, you can practically see his eyes
glowing with rage as he whips behind you at super human speed,
attempting to get the drop on you for a fatal blow.

You manage to shove your power staff straight back, though, and do
indeed skewer the man in a coronary sense, causing him to give you that
shock-laden 'huh?' look before he slumps down in a rather deceased
fashion. Causing a sort of trough to get cut through his torso.

It's pretty grisly, really.

And while you are pretty sure the man isn't dead, at least in a
religious sense, you have nonetheless killed him cold, so you manage to
lose all of your Karma. He might come back, but then again, he might
not - since you don't know, you feel rotten about it.

At least in a subconscious sort of way; s'why you have no Karma.

Anyway, that just leaves you - and Riley.

When you turn around and look at the man, you can definitely see that
he's sweating again, much like when he first gave you the job to fetch
that temporal fluid. Makes you wonder what he's up to this time, but
before you can put it together, he produces a gun.

A .357 Magnum, in fact.

"Die, Charlie!"

BLAMM BLAMM BLAMM, says Mister Magnum.

You take two slugs, one in the shoulder and one uncomfortably close to
the groin - your thigh, actually. It's a good thing you can fly, 'cause
you don't feel like you can walk very well right now - if at all. You
ain't dead yet, though that was another 18 points of damage.

You all wander through the curious doorway, and find yourself emerging
into what feels like nothing more than one of those walk-in
refrigerators at your fast food restaurant of choice. A light breeze of
cold air can be felt billowing towards the warmer air behind you.

Though you're all surrounded by ice, you can all see just fine, for the
ice itself is giving off light of some sort; you may just be very close
to the surface of... wherever you are, or it may be 'magic' ice, but
regardless, you can see the path before you clearly.

It's a simple, rectangular hole in the ice, cut to be a perfect 10' x 5'
path from the Chrysler Building to... wherever this hallway ends. After
you all meet up with Ken again, who'd wandered not too far ahead, you
find yourselves at a crossroads of sorts.

This icy corridor intersects with another at a ninety degree angle, but
where the two hallways meet, you find that a much larger area of ice has
been removed; the junction of the two hallways is centered upon a fifty
foot by fifty foot by fifty foot chamber cut into the ice.

Seems like you're deeper than you previously thought.

The trick with this meeting of corridors, though, is that the center of
the hallways is, in fact, at the center of this chamber, causing the
floor of the chamber to be about twenty feet lower than that of the
corridors themselves. Means you have to hop down to progress.

As you attempt to get past this spot, which is a natural ambush location
for those of you that think in such terms, you feel a definite cold
breeze pick up. It blows through the lot of you, chilling you all to
the bone - unless you're otherwise protected from such things.

Right about when the first of you reaches the center of this chamber,
you all hear a dread voice materialize from nowhere. "Who goes there?"
it says in a raspy, wintry voice. "Who dares to intrude here, in the
realm of her draconic majesty!?"

You get the impression that things are about to heat up...

"Amway?"
Masque snickers to himself and then turns to Ari and loses it. He falls on
the floor laughing and just as suddenly he rights himself.
He throws up his shield and then realizes that he just dispelled it and
throws it back up again.
A bead of sweat glistens on his head as he smiles that unknowing smile.

Sidling towards Magus, he whispers;
"Say something nice to the lady huh? Maybe she has a soft spot for you."
He ducks instinctively.
"And don't look at me like that, I'm just sayin'. That's all"
Masque readies himself for a beating, from The Dragon that is.

You hear a pregnant pause after Ari and Masque's comments, and the
eerie, otherworldly voice seems hesitant to respond to you. Either it's
attempting to avoid being made fun of again, or is simply exasperated by
your human antics.

"Very well," says the wispy voice. "Mock me at your peril!"

With that, the air itself begins to move. You feel a breeze swirling
around the room in a circular, counterclockwise pattern. It gets more
and more intense, until it abruptly stops, a swirl of it thickening into
a humanoid shape. It then speaks.

"Ooh, YEEah!"

The snow white, misty mass o' matter then resolves itself into a
bone-white man, a guy who appears to be composed of snow (or just
covered in a thin glaze of it), with crystal blue, glowing eyes. He
seems completely nekkid - or lacks proper male bits, perhaps.

"From the bottom of the world I come, here to put all pretenders to the
throne in a chill sleeper hold from whence they'll never return. I am
Captain Katabatic, and I'm here to put you in your place, you pale
imitation of me and my glory!"

He's pointing at you, Stone Cold!

A bunch of other folks then appear in a flash of eldritch orange light,
and they look rather surly in demeanor.

The first, a man wearing a black, pin-striped suit and a black fedora,
walks up to you and lights a cigar, Rebound. He huffs and he puffs, and
the thing lights up in this rarefied air. "Looks like your ticket's up,
see? Youse gots Drag on your case, you mook."

And he don't look like no drag queen, either.

The second, a man who looks like he's wearing black pajamas decorated
with a silk belt, a black scarf over his nose and mouth, and the
quietest looking boots you've ever seen, brandishes a staff at you,
Crimebuster. Something looks familiar about his fighting stance.

He doesn't even talk, just nods and approaches you.

Third, Jinx, you see this lady walking towards you with menace in her
eye, looking at you like you were the single most loathsome person on
earth. She's wearing naught but a pair of black biker shorts, a black
spandex tank top, a pair of sneakers, and two silvery bracelets.

They're glowey. She looks at you. She motions towards you with her
hand and says "Get some."

The fourth person to approach you comes at you, Magus, and she's not all
that happy-looking, either. She's short, has pointy ears, and her eyes
glow with an eerie, inner red light. She's wearing naught but a two
piece, chain mail bikini outfit.

"Ah, one freak to another - let's see if your better half is better than
mine, halfbreed. Prepare to face the might of Cilantro!"

Villain Number Five sneers at you, Ari, doing so as he whirls a length
of chain at his side. He's a short, skinny, bookish sort, wearing a
pair of denim overalls over a thick knitted sweater. He's got a large
pair of round-rimmed glasses. And way too confident.

"Why do I, the Confiscator, have to fight a stupid girl? Boo!"

A sixth minion appears to menace Och, slowly creeping up on him with a
bow in hand. This lady's wearing some sort of forest-green dress, one
built to hug her slight, otherworldly figure. She's got long silvery
hair, pointy ears, and looks just as fantastic in origin as Och."

"Ugh, a dirty dwarf." She then nocks her arrow.

The seventh villain causes the ice to melt beneath him (?) as he (?)
stomps towards Ken, his (?) body crackling with fiery orange energies.
The large, hulking man (?) seems to be made of stone, and looks like he
(?) actually can hurt Ken - though nobody else seems able to.

"Magmanimous KILL!", it says.

Finally, an eighth foe appears out of the hallway opposite the one you
entered this chamber in, and drops from his precarious hold on the
hallway floor to the chamber bottom twenty feet below. "Stupid dragon,
with her magic teleportation... rassm frassm."

The guy's wearing a pair of jeans, a T-shirt, a pair of leather boots,
and oddly, a white tabard. The legend has a wizard cone on it, being a
triangle with stars on it, within a red circle with a bar through it;
looks like this guy don't like wizards, Masque.

And he's coming for you.

"Hah! A stupid mage... I'll have to add another notch to my belt." The
guy pushes his tabard aside, and shows a good dozen 'wizard hats' etched
into the leather of his belt. "So, loser, you prepared to fall before the might of the Normal Man?!"

Looks like mizzus dragon has all kinds of plans for you guys/gals...

(ooc: I'll be dealing with this scrap just a little bit different than
usual, in that I'll be replying to each person individually for the
duration of this fight, in an experiment to see if things work a bit
more efficiently.

Now, just so y'all don't think so, I'm not trying to necessarily rush
you all through anything, I just want to make sure I'm not boring
anybody - and this way the folks that tend to answer faster can at least
finish up their scraps quick-like... groovy?)

As you fire on the shapechanging robot with your DNA disorganizing
gravitic pulse, it shakes its fist at you. "Treasonous mercenary, we
had a deal!" Your DNA disorganizer strikes the self-identified
Starscream, and topples it over onto a handy Burger King.

Glass and Whoppers (TM) fly willy-nilly through the air!

Moebius coasts closer to your position. " 'We had a deal...?'
Something you're not telling me?!"

As the robot rights itself, it glares at you with an inhuman rage. "So,
Gunslinger, no longer playing with your paltry neutron beams, are we?
Well... regardless, if you no longer wish to help me revenge myself upon
my enemies, prepare to meet your doom!"

Starscream transmogrifies his (its?) body into its vehicular form, and
you can see it once again utilizing its disintegrator. It fires, but
not at you this time; no, this time, it's shooting at Moebius. The beam
strikes her dead in the chest!

She says "!"

Understandably so, you know.

And seems even more exasperated when she realizes the beam only took off
her 'shirt' (disintegrators work in layers, after all). After she
recovers from this embarrasing turn of events, the three of you suddenly
hear a whistle blowing down on the street.

You see a woman standing there. She lets go of the whistle with her
lips, allowing it to dangle from her neck by a small chain. She's
wearing a black leather jacket, a pair of black leather pants, and has
some sort of sidearm on a hip-holster.

She's also carrying an electronic slate, a transparent device that seems
to be feeding her information.  Most likely on the trio before her;
i.e., you. "You there! You three temporal aberrants - cease and desist
your timeline disruptive activities at once!"

She brandishes a badge at you with her not-slate-holding-hand.

Starscream just scoffs. "What manner of insane fleshling are YOU?"

"Lieutenant Syde, Temporal Management. Oh, and you're all under
arrest..."

"He spoke of the horrors this abomination inflicted upon the oceans of
the world, of the dissolution of our proud home, Atlantis, due to the
presence of these toxins. He even rescued a few wayward surface
dwellers like yourself, and brought them with."

"Though I hear the female that accompanied him is somewhat... violent.
At any rate, he awaits us in holy Atlantis, if you care to back up your
statement of intent to meet him. Of course, I can grant you the ability

Seeing you wake up, the nurse gives you grief about not letting go of

good trouncing, too.

Then you kick him where he lives.

He doubles over in pain, saying "Whaa...?"

Before you can smash him over the noggin with the gecko, though, he
disappears in an explosive flash as Rebound hits him (see Rebound Round
1). Looks like he's got Normal Man in hand. Of course, you aren't out
of hot water just yet. Oh no.

As Crimebuster declines to fight the staff-wielding martial artist that
challenged him, the fighter decides to take you on. "I would have
preferred someone of similar martial skill, but since your swordsman
fled my challenge, I suppose you'll have to do."

"Though I doubt you'll be as entertaining..."

The man twirls his staff in his hand, causing it to become a blur of
circular motion, and continues to do so for several seconds, at which
point it begins to crackle with a green, eldritch energy. "Prepare to
meet your maker, mage!"

He swings, he scores. He infilcts Remarkable (30) Energy damage before
your mystic shield's protection, bonking you good on the head in the
process... you feel a bit dizzy, but are otherwise ok. At least, you
think so...

before Masque kicks him in the jimmy (per Masque Round 1). Looks like
the mage is about to deck the guy with an oversized gecko, but you beat
him to the punch, and body check Normal Man solid-like.

Wasn't like he was feeling up to dodging, after all.

"Aurghck!" Sounds like your explosive attack winded him.

You definitely burnt him pretty good, too, charring off his T-shirt and
tabard, and actually giving him burns on his skin. He's not all that
unconscious, though, and as he pulls himself together, he starts to glow
with an eerie yellow light.

"Cock!"

He then fires a blast of yellow energies at you! "Cretin! Nincompoop!
Did you think me totally defenseless?! I may be the Normal Man, but
that's just 'cause of the effect I have on magic folks! I can fire a
blast of neutralizing energy as well as emit it in a field... rrr!"

Normal Man does manage to tag you with his shot, though it was more of a
glancing blow since he's in intense, blinding pain right now. His
energy discharge gives you Excellent (20) damage that affects your armor
as though it were magic, causing you 14 total points of harm.

"Want some more of that, you ass?!"

You tag her square in the face with your flying kick, knocking her flat
on the ground. You inflict a full Excellent (20) Blunt Attack damage to
her head, which serves to truly make her angry. "Hey, jerk, I'm kinda
busy here!"

She then wheels on you, Crimebuster, and points her arms (complete with
shiny, glow-y bracelets) at you. "Fine, you want to play out of your
gourd, so be it. Hope you like particle beams, Ginzu-boy!" She then
shoots energy pulses at you from her bracelets!!

You duck, dodge, and weave as though you were moving in Bullet-Time
(TM), though, for the pulses of energy just can't seem to connect with
your ever-moving, ever-spinning body. She tags the ice behind you
rather well, causing it to explode in big clouds of sharp ice, though.

You, however, fail to get hit. By particle beams OR ice chunks.

the bottom of the world, I've never met a more deserving target for my
patented Flying Elbow Drop!"

It looks like Captain Katabatic's about to engage you in melee, Stone
Cold, when you instead fire upon him with a barrage of icy missiles.
"Oho, what have we here? What - Have - We - Here?" Captain Katabatic
stops to observe the chunks of ice sticking out of his torso.

"This mere shadow of my royal self wishes to defeat me with ice? Ice?!
I AM ice, you sorry excuse for an elemental archtype - I'm betting you
can't even shape the ice you make. Oh sure, you can mold it when you
make it, but I bet that's it."

"I bet you can't even shape ice once, say, you find yourself in a big
block of it, yeah? YEEah!" With that, Captain Katabatic resumes his
misty, snowy form, and charges at you with amazing speed, Stone Cold -
he solidifies instead of striking you though - all around you.

Encasing you in ice!!

The transparent wizard waits for you to take care of your business, and
once you lock your car up, casts a spell upon you once you return to the
beach. "This will allow you to breathe in the water until you return to
the surface - or until I negate it."

Once you've encased your body in the requisite force field, in order to
keep your suit in a pristine state, you are able to follow the trio of
odd beings into the waves below. You find, though, that the spell (or
whatever) works, and you can indeed breathe in the lake.

They they set off at an impressive rate, and you find it hard to keep
up; not that you are slower than them by any means, but underwater these
guys are indeed invisible. By feeling their wake, though, you can
indeed keep up with 'em.

As you swim, you get the impression that you're going faster and faster,
until you feel that these submersible fellows are going impossibly
fast. That's when you spot a discharge of energy from their leader, and
feel the water rush by in an impossible blur of motion.

Suddenly, you're not under the river so much as under the ocean itself;
you can taste the difference in the water, and feel the intense pressure
beating down on you. You also see the spectacular, jewel-like city that
these folks call home: Atlantis!

At least, that's what they identify it as once they see you taking it
all in.

They then swim in amongst the well-lit, crystalline structures that make
up the city, and eventually come to what would appear to be the center
of such - a large, palatial construct made from crystals of a seemingly
infinite color range. The inner light of the place makes it sparkle
with an otherworldly light... it's quite impressive, really - not like
anything you've seen before.

The leader goes up to talk to some guards, and you hear an impressive
amount of warbling. It goes on for at least five minutes, at which
point he returns back to you and sighs. "It would appear that they
think you're too dangerous to talk to the Prophet."

"Or just nobody talks to him... hm."

Moebius grimaces.

"Just because you're a time traveler doesn't make you innocent, bub. At
least I make sure stuff like this doesn't come back to haunt me... well,
most of the time, anyway. But I definitely warn myself of any stupid
deals I cut in the past. Usually."

You blast Starscream dead on with your force bolt, again knocking him
into the Burger King, this time causing flying debris to fly into the
windows of nearby cars and buildings. "Aaaack," says Starscream.
"Fleshling, you'll pay for that with your miserable life...!"

Before Starscream can pay you back for your perfidy, though, the lot of
you are interrupted by the representative of Temporal Management.

In response to your comment, the transforming robot snarls at you.
"Feh! I'll be 'arrested' by no fleshling, whether it be human or
otherwise! I'll destroy you, backstabber - but I'll deal with this
interloper first - so I can enjoy smearing you under my boot."

"Just like the insect you are...!"

Starscream stands up and prepares to strike Lieutenant Syde, when the
police-woman pulls out her gun. It makes an imposing 'buuuuuu' noise as
she puts her finger on the trigger, and several indicator lights on the
advanced pistol spring to life in a menacing fashion.

"Don't make me kill you, Cybertonian."

"Pfah," says Starscream, who levels his pistol at the lady.

She then proceeds to shoot at the villain.

Her gun makes a rather large amount of sound for such a small gun; it's
about the size of a mere Colt .45, but you get the impression that if
this fight were taking place a good mile or six from here, the gun'd be
just as painful to the ears.

She then walks up to the errant Sweep, and kicks it. It subsequently
falls apart in an impressive hailstorm of purple metal, electronics, and
other high-tech frippery. You could almost swear you heard a ghostly
voice say 'This seems familiar...'*

When the cacophony of collapsing Decepticon and the smoke clears,
Lieutenant Syde's still standing.

She makes a checkmark on her electronic slate with a stylus.

She then looks at you.

You hear Moebius say "Er."

?

* This, of course, was that possessed Sweep from that Transformers
cartoon episode 'Starscream's Ghost', in case anybody was wondering... I
figured it'd be a nice aside, considering all the other time traveling
tomfoolery that was going on at the time.

Yeah, I'm combining random bits from that cartoon and comic, but hey,
with time traveling folks, they usually come from alternate timelines
anyway, so it all fits together more or less... that should be enough
Transformers for the time being though.... woo!

Don't let the tourism board there fool you.

Yes, the lady who seemed to want a piece of you got herself jacked by
Crimebuster (see Crimebuster Round 1), so that leaves you open to take a
pot shot or seven at any nearby villainous sort - and it seems Captain
Katabatic IS the most dangerous one here.

Unless you mean visual danger; then Magmanimous wins hands down there.

Anyway, you wheel on Katabatic and take your shot, tagging the icy
criminal dead on with your one remaining unbroken Mag-cannon, and you
explode his head! At least, you think you do. "Oooh," says Captain
Katabatic. "That'll leave a mark!"

The ice glob surrounding Stone Cold gets bigger, then a snowy debris
from the top runs off and forms into Katabatic's human shape again. He
grimaces at you, Jinx. "Or maybe not, you poor excuse for a woman.
You're nothing like my long lost love - you don't even compare!"

"The Lovely Lady Elizabeth would never stoop to shooting a man in the
head, much less a royal personage such as myself, the Captain
Katabatic. I have to say you are totally un-proven, little girl, and
I'm about to put you down from the top rope!"

Captain Katabatic then climbs up onto the big hunk of ice he left Stone
Cold in seconds (or hours, depending on how long his exposition took in
your mind) ago, and looks like he's preparing to take a flying leap at
you! Good thing he already made his attack this turn, eh?

However, Drag hasn't.

Since Rebound declined to take Drag up on his challenge to his manhood,
he decided that he'd go ahead and deal with any free opponents; looks
like that's you. "Heyyy, little girly-girl, looks like we're gonna
tussle, see?"

The heavily stereotypical mobster-type strides towards you as though he
owned the place, and it looks like he's gonna punch ya. He swings, and
you feel a truly impressive whoosh of air pass by your head as you duck
under his wild punch faster than even YOU thought you could move.

He's still there, though. And Captain K looks like he's about to leap.

What next?

You thrust outwards towards two of the Dragon's minions before you,
Magus, though only one of your blows makes it home. You indeed slash
Cilantro up good, giving her a gash from her left hip to her right
shoulder, one that should have caused her internal organs to spill out.

You just see a sort of pulpy green mess inside her, though... all sorts
of indistinct vines and branches and moss and such.

Your other blow misses as the silent man fighting Masque leaps into the
air to avoid your sword blow even as he strikes the mad wizard upside
the head with his weaponry (see Masque Round 1). He seems to be rather
talented, that one - could be some trouble in store for Masque.

Meanwhile, Cilantro cackles in your general direction. "Not a wise
move, reptilian. You seem to have let my other half out."

Looking at the woman, you can see that the skin is peeling away from the
vicious cut you gave her like saran wrap under a blowdrier, shriveling
up in such a fashion that exposes even more greenish, pulpy matter to
the rarefied air all around you.

"Mommy was a plant demon, see, and I kind of inherited more than a few
of mom's more... endearing qualities."

Cilantro then explodes - or rather, a large amount of plant matter
issues forth from her torso, large strands of vines that look as though
they're covered in large thorns that are themselves coated in a black,
viscous goo. They seem like trouble no matter how you look at 'em.

Luckily, you manage to avoid the grasping plant-things - at least, this
time. Having missed you, though, Cilantro's reeling 'em back in.

right before he leaps upon the poor, yet suspecting Jinx down there
below the lump of ice that you were frozen within mere moments ago. You
throw punch after punch at the strange man, and shatter him.

The bits of Captain Katabatic fall to the icy floor beneath you. "Is
that all you got?" The various chunks of Captain Katabatic then explode
into a billowing, snowy mass, which again starts to breeze around you,
Stone Cold.

"I am the chill winter wind that gives you the willies at night, you
nincompoop - you cannot defeat Captain Katabatic with but a few blows
from your flaccid limbs! I will show you the true meaning of punishment
- sorry little lady, you'll have to wait your turn..."

He says that to Jinx before swirling around you almost like a miniature
blizzard, Stone Cold, though the stress in the man's voice seems to
indicate that you did, in fact, hurt him plenty with those punches you
delivered unto him earlier. He's not quite out yet, though.

Not by a long shot.

His tornadic action actually starts wearing away at your rocky form as
though he were sandpaper, or a particularly nasty cheese grater, slowly
eroding the outer core of your rocky form. He manages to inflict upon

business, anyway? Are you just a really nice guy? Huh?" Ken laughs at
Magmanimous' expense, but soon sees the error of his ways.

The black, stony mass of Magmanimous, glowing in random breaking points
as though he were full of lava just begging to seep out, lurches at Ken
with surprising speed, and engulfs him totally within his mass, leaving
a sort of Ken-shaped hole in his 'skin' where the hero got sucked in.

"Mmf!", says Ken.

He tries punching his way out of the steaming hot lava guy, but finds
that the villain is simply adjusting his entirely liquid innards as he
does so, attempting to keep him locked up until the ungodly heat within
him burns Ken to a crisp.

Of course, he's so hot that the ice below him seems to be melting.
Magmanimous is starting to sink into the ice, and may very well take Ken
with him if the bearer of the Star Brand can't get it together and work
his way out of the oversized, walking death trap.

"You know you want me - quit fighting it!"

This causes the girl in green to scream out in rage and disgust, giving
Och an opportunity to rally, at which point he flings his axe at her, in
what looks like an effort to cleave her head in half! He even hits her,
too, causing her to fall unconscious on the icy floor.

He managed to throw the axe in such a fashion, though, that he struck her
with the blunt top of the axe, and not the blade itself; while he may
not exactly like elves, Och isn't about to go around killing them - even
if they gave him a nasty arrow wound.

Of course, it looks like Och isn't out of hot water yet, oh no. As soon
as he fells the unnamed elven archer, another villain comes floating
through the rectangular, icy hallway from whence Normal Man issued
forth. "Yo yo yo, wazzup in the hizouse?"

Och just looks at the youngster with an unblinking stare that causes him
to exclaim "What, yo never heard of Vitamin G?" Vitamin G, as he
identifies himself, looks almost exactly like Vanilla Ice, what with the
tall hair cut, the gold chains, and the on-backwards pants.

"You ready for this, shorty?"

Och just grimaces, and holds his hand out. His axe flies back to it.

"Oh yes," says Och.

Normal Man beats you to the punch, Rebound, and lets loose with another
blast of devastating power - inflicting Remarkable (30) 'magic' damage
before your protection from injury. After your armor, of course, this
is reduced to a mere 24 points of damage.

"Ha! How's that for a world of hurt, pussy? Ha ha ha ha ha!"

This makes you enjoy your assault that much more, really. You hug
Normal Man before he can shoot you again, and your acidic secretions
actually manage to penetrate his field in order to let you stick to the
man. "Hey, what the Hell are you doing? I don't play for that team!"

Despite Normal Man's protests, you leap explosively into the air,
shattering a large amount of ice beneath your feet, and cannonball
towards Magmanimous. Normal Man realizes what you're doing just a bit
too late, however. "No... No! Noooooo!"

BOOM

The highly energetic nature of Magmanimous', well, magma, causes your
impact to be that much more spectacular, and the resulting explosion
sprays bits of lava all over the icy chamber, causing that much more
damage to the walls around you.

You inadvertently let go of Normal Man as you fly across the room,
however, and he impacts into the ice quite nicely there about twenty
feet from where you hit Magmanimous. Looks like he's out cold, and that
he's going to have several nasty burns, too.

That'll teach him that Crime Doesn't Pay (C).

Of course, you're still pinballing around this incredibly small ice
chamber, Rebound... with your luck, you'll either strike one of your
friends or collapse the thing altogether before too soon. What do you
do now?!

"Say your prayers, That Guy Who Kicked My Ass!"

The lady who still hasn't told you HER name then opens up with her
particle beam bracelets again, and gives you a double-barreled dose of
punishment for your trouble. She shoots, she scores, and having
actually hit you this time, hurts you somewhat.

She tags you for an impressive, Remarkable (30) Energy damage, which is
reduced somewhat to 26 by your inherent resistance to such attacks.
Seeing you still standing after blasting you in the chest with her
weapons of choice, she seems unmanned. Or unwomaned, I guess.

"Oh, hell."

You then let loose with the stun shuriken, and manage to tag her with
all three of 'em. She just scowls and brushes them off with her left
arm. "Feh, you think those little things can take me down? I'm wearing
Kevlar (TM) clothes here, you, you... you."

She then falls face first onto the hard, icy floor.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaugh! Stop it, you bastard! I'll kill you! I'll rip your

The gecko abruptly stops screaming, though, when its head comes directly

                                  ***

After Rebound and the Normal Man strike him (see Rebound Round 2),
Magmanimous seems to have lost his head - anatomically speaking, at
least. This allows Ken to actually poke his head out of the lava
monster, and see what's going on. "Ack, we're sinking!"

Magmanimous then sucks Ken back into his massive frame, and within
seconds, the duo are submerged in molten ice, which then evaporates as
soon as it physically touches Magmanimous, creating a sort of geyser
effect all around them.

It looks like the two are sinking fast, and Magmanimous' heat is
starting to damage the ground, for it would appear that it's just ice
for a long, long ways down, and Magmanimous' heat is causing it to start
getting mushy where everybody's standing.

Meanwhile, Och faces down Vitamin G, simply screaming as he runs towards
the garishly dressed youth in a battle charge; it's all for naught,
however, for Vitamin G simply displaces Och with a wave of his hand,
causing him to fly clean across this icy chamber.

He makes an impressive crater in the ice wall behind you all, and looks
like he's been embedded at least ten feet in. "Hah, stupid little
munchkin, you are beneath the notice of Vitamin G, yo. Anybody else
want to throw down with the G?"

The wizard who brought you here goes to talk to the guards again, and

The other then makes a grunting noise and a finger gesture, which

Hm... I see.

Well, you have your night of immoral drinking and gambling and, I
suppose, whoremongering, and it's pretty much uneventful, save for the
events that you're going for, I suppose - the night is rife with those.
When you wake up, though, you find yourself all alone. And broke.

Seems like your date(s) cleaned out your wallet whilst you were out cold
from all the illicit substances you wound up ingesting during the
night. By the time you do pull yourself together and realize this,
though, it's about six P.M. in Vegas Time.

After you sit in the hot tub your highly expensive room is equipped
with, and gather yourself back together, you find that you do feel much
better, really. You're not quite as hung over as you felt before, and
not in as much pain overall - though the painkillers you got helped.

Love them legal drugs, y'know - they're the GOOD stuff.

So, how do you shake off the rest of your hangover, Charlie?

Dew chain reaction... gaah.

So, just get rid of that other one, and put this in its place... d'oh.
(for some reason, I lost track of Drag... heheh) So, to try this from
the beginning...

                               ***

You make your move on the menacing Drag, Jinx (see, I got it right THIS
time), and attempt to do the whole Kung Fu Toss style move on his
pin-striped suit wearing self. You pulled the move off perfectly, see,
but the problem wasn't with you so much as it was with Drag.

You fling him proper, throwing him in a ballistic arc that should've
caused him to impact spectacularly with the dread Magmanimous, but
instead of sinking into a hot, steamy geyser of love, Drag just sort of
... stops in mid air.

Righting himself, he then sinks to the ground, and naturally, he mocks
you. Mock mock! "Hah Hah Hah! Drag ain't so easy to deep six, you
two-bit floozy... you'll have to try much harder than that. But, see,
I'm not about to let you have that chance...!"

Drag then balls his fists, and strikes the ground between his feet,
creating a much larger impact than you expected; in fact, he causes a
fissure to form in the ice, one that splits towards you all too quickly.
You fall in before you can even properly react to it, even.

Luckily for you, your force field managed to prevent you from taking any
damage from the impact of falling into the ten foot ditch that Drag just
made, but the problem is that you're now almost completely buried in a
veritable grave of slush and ice.

Your left hand is still free, though... what now?!

"OK, Drag. You've beat me. You gonna at least be a man and get down here and

He waits....

"And don't even try and pin an assassination on me babe! This Daddy Warbucks

He thinks about that last statement for a moment....

Your efforts ultimately cause the bizarre villain to give up that

"Not guilty? Huh!"

Apparently Lieutenant Syde doesn't buy that. However, she does go ahead
and tolerate your going through a tirade about as lengthy as her own, since
it's only in her best interest to hear your side of the story.

Even if it's a long one. But then she retorts.

"Just because we didn't come after you right away didn't mean we didn't
plan to, Gunslinger. After all, you can only squeeze so much out of the
timeline before it squeezes back. It is our job to keep the squeezing from
occurring - all round."

"We're trying to protect everybody from your temporal chicanery - even you!"

While Syde pauses to let this sink in, you get the dread impression that
Moebius is up to no good. Of course, the fact that she's growling under
her breath is what lets you think this. You almost think she's up to some
magic hocus pocus before she pops.

"Bitch! You and your stupid clubs of time traveler 'heroes'... it's idiots
like you who got my mentor Mazed in the first place... argh! It's all
about control - you have a nifty keen trick, and don't want nobody sharing
it. You whore!"

"What's the goddam point of 'time police' anyway?!" Moebius pauses to pull
out her mystic blade... which makes you very, very nervous.

"If every instance of time travel shoots off a divergent reality, it's not
like any damage to 'time' is being done... and it's not like there aren't a
billion divergences being split off of each timeline every second anyway!"

Moebius' eyes start to glow with an evil, evil light, and before Syde can
retort, Moebius starts waggling her fingers. "Fine, you want to shake your
so-called power in my face? So be it! But don't cry to me when the
consequences of your actions kick you in the ass!"

With that, Moebius vanishes. Into time, you'd imagine. Makes you fear for
the continuum.

After the steam clears from your ersatz side kick's temper tantrum,
however, Syde looks unfazed. "That's the kind of time travel we worry
about, you see. Now, it's not like I was going to shoot you or anything,
Gunslinger - honestly."

"I just want to get to the bottom of this. I recognize that it likely
wasn't YOU that killed Captain Warbucks, since it seems your weaponry emits
energies quite different than the psychomagnetic plasma that this one did."

Psychomagnetic plasma. Not gravity pulses like you tend to emit... tells
you that the Gunslinger who allegedly did this isn't one of YOUR
divergences, after all, but comes from another timeline altogether. Try
convincing her of that, though.

"However, since it was 'you' after a fashion, Temporal Management is
holding you responsible for this action. The rest is piddly stuff,
honestly speaking, though the Management won't abide the murder of one of
their own. As such, I have a suggestion."

"Why not find the actual perpetrator of this dark deed, and bring him to us
so we can try him properly? If so, I'd imagine the Management wouldn't
pester you about this any longer. I mean, we DO have better things to do
than hunt folks like you down..."

Very well. You clean up the mess you've gotten yourself in here due to
your naughty behavior, and before you know it, you've made your way to the
beautiful Los Angeles. At least it's beautiful from your current view...
all the lights are coming on.

Like your arrival in Vegas last night, though, you do hear a plethora of
sirens and such - you'd expect that from L.A., but they all seem to be
converging on a spot almost directly beneath your feet - looks like
somebody blew up a Burger King (TM).

Looking closer, you see a significant pile of purple metal, which looks
like it used to be a rather large, humanoid robot - or some sort of
vehicle. Almost like someone had trashed up one of those annoying
Cybertronians. Three someones, actually.

By the time you get closer, though, you note that one of them, a small
female with midnight skin (save for some red speckles) vanishes in a huff,
leaving a tall, pale fellow facing off against what looks like some sort of

The lot of you are starting to notice, if you're on the ground still, that
there's something heavy going on beneath the ice. For one thing, the
entirety of the surface below you's starting to get all melty - and is
actually emitting light now.

An eerie, orange light.

That's because Ken and Magmanimous are really going at it now, even as the
intent heat the both of them are now giving off continues to burrow a hole
into the ice beneath them. Steam and red hot water continues to boil off
of them.

They're so deep, though, that the hole the've made is simply bubbling with
water that's at about 100 or so degrees at this point. Deep beneath you
all, though, Ken finally manages to extract himself from Magmanimous' death
trap body.

"Hah! I got you now, you not-so-nice guy!"

At least, that's what Ken would've said if he hadn't been underwater, and
it didn't come out sounding like 'blur blublub blur bly' or something to
that effect. He then lights up with his Star Brand power, and blasts
Magmanimous a good one.

You all can definitely see THAT beneath you, the ice not being enough to
hide the stellar amount of energies that Ken just gave off. This, of
course, causes another eruption of steam and still-boiling water to shoot
out of the hole they made.

Y'all manage to avoid being burned by it through various means,
though. And, when the light finally dies down and the spots fade from
everybody's eyes (unless your vision is otherwise protected, mind you), you
all see Ken fly out of the ice.

"Now, where were we..."

Meanwhile, just a bit away from where Ken was previously engulfed / sank,
Och pulls himself out of the wall that Vitamin G had deposited himself
in. He collects his axe, but doesn't seem up for anything else just yet.

He's still catching his breath and all. That was quite a hit, you know.

he's no longer paying attention to Rebound, that means he's just got to
concentrate on you.

"Yo. Where was I, again? Oh yeah... biznitch."

The Nutritious One then looks at you with malice in his eyes, Crimebuster,
and you start to sink. You would've just been flattened to the ground
before, but thanks to Magmanimous's incredible energy output, and of course
Ken's, the ground's all gooey.

You're not quite sure how fast you're moving, but you can feel your body
pushing through the goo with increasing speed; it's more melty the deeper
you go; this, of course, makes you wonder how long those above have before
they, too, sink.

And that's not counting Vitamin G's influence.

"Light what?"

You make quite the impressive blast when you nail him, but that may've been

Manipulating them to wrap around his shoulders, he lifts himself out of the
