"You got it, Ari!"

Rebound steps between the biker-bot and the rest of the crew, taking extra care to make sure that his feet are securely stuck to the ground.

"You want to get to them...you gotta get through me, so bring it on, loser.
Or do I have to shove something bigger up your tail pipe?"

Rebound will lean a bit forward, bracing for the inevitable impact (assuming
this works as planned), waiting for the biker-bot to charge him. He'll then
hit the incoming bike as hard as he can muster, right above the front wheel,
hoping to break, or at least badly damage the forks holding the wheel on.

(OOC...That's too funny. I almost fell out of my chair.)

Geoffrey laughs. Not the kind of polite social laugh you'd expect from such
a man, but a truly deep and uncontrolled laugh.

"Jim...you're a riot...humble too. I've seen you in action. Anything that
has to do with underwater action...Jim is our man."

Geoffrey takes a moment to fully compose himself again.

"It seems we have a good range of abilities here. Does anyone have any good ideas on what to call our new company? If nothing else, we can always call ourselves something obscure like 'The Division'. I'll get us a marketing firm to do some image building and set up an initial campaign, but pretty soon, we'll have to start bringing in the cash flow. My pockets aren't infinitely deep, mind you."

Geoffrey calls his lawyer as the group (presumably) discusses a name.

"Yes, Tolland, this is Geoffrey. I need a set of articles of incorporation drawn up. It will be an investigative firm. Thank you. I'll give you the name as soon as we're decided."

Before the action...

Jake looks at you and grins, Ari, and in response to your greeting, he simply says "Hi, Tropius!"

Rebound, on the other hand, gets a big 10-4 from Harry. "Will do buddy - I just figured you guys were occupied right now..."

In the action...

As Stone Cold finishes putting out various fires here and there, you get ready for the ExploDetonator's attack, Jinx. You stop, drop and roll as he explodes towards you, and manage to roll free of his assault toot sweet. And, of course, throw Masque an idea.

As the spinach-chinned wizard sets up another 'disposal' attack, Stone Cold blasts your foe with a burst of ice and snow, and actually seems to slow him down a bit, preventing him from bouncing at you a second time. It doesn't look like it will last long, but Masque is pretty fast.

He starts spell-slinging like nobody's business, making all kinds of insane finger motions that are seemingly impossible, especially since his digits seem to be passing through each other at times, and before you know it he's made his hole in space-time.

The ExploDetonator falls through again, and just like last time, he hits something relatively close to the portal proper, getting blasted up into the air. This time around, though, Masque's got a second portal cooked up in a wacky amount of time, and blips the troublemaker into it.

The problem, though, is that the ExploDetonator hit something else with an already impressive velocity, something that said "ARRRRGGGHHH!" in a decidedly sinister and very loud fashion, and got popped back out of the second portal, only to fall towards the first again.

That's when things got weird.

The ExploDetonator refused to quit, clawing at the concrete nearby the first portal Masque cooked up, but was unable to escape this imprisonment because, despite all odds, a piano fell on him from above. Forcing him through the space-time gap, that piano stopped his rampage flat.

Looking up, you see two movers who were previously hoisting the musical instrument up to a fifth story window, both holding what's left of various straps and pulleys, and looking quite sheepish. One of them volunteers "Oh geez. Is everybody okay down there?"

It's uncanny how UNLUCKY that was for the ExploDetonator.

Similarly unlucky for you guys, though, is that rather large arm that's now reaching through Masque's second portal. It's humanoid, about twelve foot long from gnarly black clawtips to elbow, and covered in diabolical red scales. It's grasping at anything it can get a hold of, too...!

Nearby, the two of you split your efforts to handle this odd duo of villains, Ari, Rebound. Och accompanies you as you chase down the Centenarian, Ari, and the two of you manage to catch up to him pretty quick; his namesake seems no joke, for he's walking slowly.

Strolling, you might say.

As you approach from above, and Och closes in from behind, the old man peers back at Och with unnecessarily squinty eyes, then up at you, Ari. "Why hello there, you pretty young thing. How's about you come down here and sit in grandpa's lap?"

He then pulls a cylindrical device out of his pin-striped suit pocket, and it extends into a cane. It looks like a walking cane, but most of those aren't made out of chrome, much less have an ominous red crystal on top. "Trust me, I don't bite. Hell, I don't gots teeth no more.

"Hur hur hur hur hur..."

This offends Och's sensibilities, however. "You cad! Apologize for your lurid comments before I smash you a good one. I don't care if you ARE a Centenarian, but where I come from, that's not how you talk to a lady!" Och then waggles his fist at the old man.

Speaking of the old man, he grabs a newspaper and, after looking at the date, he shrugs. "Centenarian... feh. I've been on ice so long, it seems that I'll have to change my code name once more. Let's see... 130 years old, now, that makes me...

"The Triskaidecanarian!"

Across the street, the motorcycle parked on Jake sneers at you, Rebound. "Stick something in my tail pipe, eh? I do believe that's some sort of bizarre, human sexual innuendo. Sorry, pal - not interested. Axer's all about the lady-bots, see."

"Mmm... lady-bots... Wait... oh yeah. Threaten me, will you?"

Apparently snapping out of his distraction, this 'Axer' fellow does indeed charge, rolling off of Jake in an effort to share that misery with you. This is when you pull off your Superman (TM) impersonation, and smash in Axer's whole front side with a simply amazing punch.

You hit him so hard, and so well, that you knock his front wheel right off, causing him to come to an abrupt stop at your feet, while you yourself don't move an inch. The concussion broke some car windows nearby, but it was really quite fulfilling.

The motorcycle then growls at you. "Oooh, you... you!"

It then starts to shake, tremble, and fold in strange and uncomfortable looking ways, and before you know it, the robot you saw in the dossier on your electronic slate stands before you. "That does it, I'm going to tear you apart. Nobody does that to Axer!

"I'm a A Bad-Ass Time Travelin' Dimensional Crossing Bounty Hunting Mother Fucker From Outer Space, and you're about to regret being assembled!"

(you don't know why, but for some reason that sounds awfully familiar...)

Axer then takes a swing at you, and punches you dead center in the face. Though you managed to not move when you hit him, he does knock you back a bit when he tags you, the explosive force your face gave off laying you flat on your back, which causes you to bounce a few times.

Minor explosions from the drop, which only cause you to rise a few inches off the ground. The odd thing though, despite all Axer's bluster, is that you didn't actually get HURT from his hit; the force was enough to activate your body coating, but not make its way through.

Heh.

Now what?

Before he retires as well, Slow Jim adds his own two cents. "Well, I'd like to help you guys out whenever possible, but I'm thinking that I may not necessarily be useful on all of your jobs - most of you seem to be space/time super-people.

Assuming nothing else goes on, everybody then crashes in their own way and location, and y'all actually manage to get some rest (and recover any lost Health and whatnot... not that I think any of you did, much). Then there's Karma I guess.

I already gave Doug Geoffrey's Karma very very recently (it was like 1,050 or something in that area - correct me if I'm wrong). I guess Gunslinger should get like 500 or so, and Charlie what, 150 - hey, he died. And then got lucky enough to get brought back.

He departs, making a few calls on his way home. He'll arrange to have his

for suits. He also makes a follow-up call to his lawyer indicating the
company will be called "T.H.E.M." No, he's not sure what T.H.E.M. stands

In the morning, Geoffrey returns shortly before the tailor is scheduled to
arrive to make sure everyone is up and about.

"Good morning, all. I trust you all slept well? The tailor will be here
shortly as you all need at least one good suit to meet clients in. Yes,
even you, Moebius. We need to look professional, and frankly, no matter how
functional your current garb is, it surely will not impress our target

When the tailor arrives, Geoffrey directs him to take measurements on the
lot of them and prepare two business suits for each with similar styling to
present a consistent image.

You notice that things aren't quite going as you'd have liked, Jinx. The two mover-type guys indeed nod at you, and enter a window in order to flee the immediate scene of battle here. However, it would appear that your cohorts are not quite with it.

Masque is just sort of standing there, gibbering something you don't understand. He's staring at the giant arm there, looking at it like it's something he just can't comprehend (ooc: or really annoyed him, from the Yahoo messages he sent me - even if he never did post...).

Stone Cold, similarly, seems more preoccupied with putting out fires that, while they had been previously extinguished, threaten to ignite anew and thus put folks in the area in danger. Unless he's just graffiti-ing the area with ice and snow and whatnot.

The giant arm, meanwhile, grasps around until it collects a Sport Utility Vehicle. It feels it up, and then crushes it like you or I would a can of frosty, refreshing citrus soda - at least, once we'd imbibed the contents within. Luckily it still hasn't grabbed anybody yet.

At the very least, Masque's complete preoccupation with the otherworldy arm seems to have caused his concentration to lapse, and the portal opening to whatever realm the ExploDetonator is stuck within has closed; too bad the other one didn't seal up so easily...

(that should cover for their silence, eh?)

Nearby, you still hover over the Triskaidecanarian (say that fast ten times in a row) upon Tropius' back, Ari, and when you direct your new pal to attack, it takes it upon itself to land. Once it does so, it starts flapping its wing leaves in a different fashion.

"Tropi Trop Trop Tropius!"

As it does so, a multitude of miniature versions of the larger leaves break off from the flapping ones, and rush towards the Triskaidecanarian, even as he finally decides upon his new 'villainous code name'. They seem sharp, too, for they slash up his moth balled suit but good.

"Ow! Oh! Ee! Why! You! Naughty! Little!"

This string of words, of course, uttered as the leaf attack cuts him up some.

Before you realize he's moved, though, the Triskaidecanarian starts running at you, and then pushes the stone on top of his walking cane, causing it to extend about ten feet into the air - it's an instant pole vaulting device! It allows him to reach you very, very quickly.

He does a flying kick right into your stomach, and manages to dismount you from Tropius. While you're winded, though, it seems that you've taken no actual damage, per se.

"Who the what the?"

While he is rather fast and agile for someone so darn old, the Triskaidecanarian apparently isn't used to fighting people with magical sports bras... Och just walks up to him and menaces him. "Now, about that apology...!"

Across the street, you gloat at and mock Axer there, Rebound, and annoy him mightily. "Feh - lucky shot, fleshling. Get some!"

And you do.

You smash him a good one in the torso, and before he can react, you give him another good shot to the face plate (he doesn't seem to have a jaw, per se, so much as a sneaky, ninja-looking metal plate where he would otherwise have a nose and mouth).

You wreck him up pretty good, but he doesn't quite seem dealt with just yet. "Har har har. You can brag all you want, huu-man, but the great thing about us Cybertronians is that we have all have at least two forms - some of which don't share weapons!

"Axer, Transform!"

Axer then does, indeed, transform, changing back into his (wrecked) motorcycle form. When he does so, you see that he's not joking, for you see plenty of speaker-like devices unfold from his chassis. "Eat quadraphonic sound waves, you ninny!"

He then proceeds to emit the single loudest, most jarring electronic sounds you've ever heard - and you've visited some badly D.J.'d clubs in your day, Rebound. As windows crash and shatter for blocks around, and tell just about everybody where you are, you feel some hurting.

The sheer concussive force of the sonic blast gives you Monstrous (75) Force damage before your defenses (so you take a full 35 points of damage), and your ears are ringing. Also, as an unfortunate side effect, the concussive energy of this attack sends you flying.

You get blasted a good half mile down the street, banging into several moving cars (and a few building fronts) in the process. As you eventually skid to a stop, you can hear Axer's voice through those deadly speakers. "Hah - who's the candy ass now, fleshbag?"

What an obnoxious robot...

You spray it with hyper-ferrous shells, and slice at it with the power of Goodness, and definitely cause a reaction. You can hear a muffled scream of sorts, and (leaving a rather icky, dark green bloody (?) mess behind) the arm indeed withdraws into the portal Masque made.

Which promptly shuts itself.

This seems to have left you sans an opponent or imminent threat, not counting the incredibly JARRING sound you suddenly hear from a few blocks down, one that seems to be immediately followed by a few of Rebound's trademark explosions. And then a few more...

Several blocks away, you begin to stomp your way back to Axer, Rebound, and hear him gloating all the while. "Arh har har har har! Not so smug now, are you huu-man? Though I'll admit you're the strongest of the bunch I've ever met, I - hey?"

As you bounce towards your robotic foe, you see that Jake has pulled himself together (despite the rather painful looking motorcycle tire print running down his forehead) and has aimed his Colt .45s right at the robot's head - from about six inches away.

"Freeze."

This distracts Axer just long enough for you to land on him. On his shoulders, in fact. You hit him with impressive concussive force, enough to blast Jake back a good ten feet - and crumple the robot into a pile of twisted metal (TM). You pop into the air once again, of course.

It takes you a bit to get control of yourself and finally land again, but when you do you can hear Axer squawking, not necessarily at you so much as at... himself? "No no no, no stasis lock, I'm not hurt that bad. I mean, really... aww shi-"

He makes a 'bzzp' sound and finally shuts up.

Across the street, you punch the Triskaidecanarian flat in the jaw, Ari, and he stumbles back a few steps, only to be entangled in Och. The dwarf seems somewhat amused that the smug old man tripped over him and fell onto the concrete, even losing his precious pole-vault-y thing.

"Har har haaaaaaghck!"

Och is a bit less amused at being picked up by the old man, who sprang back to his feet with alarming speed, and proceeded to toss him. Not just a few feet mind you, but TOSS him. You see Och sailing over the nearby buildings (just a few stories tall, mind), and cursing.

Cursing a blue streak, in fact.

Looking back at you, the Triskaidecanarian grins, a small amount of blood leaking out of his mouth. "Now, where were we, little gel...?" He leers at you, and then starts to slowly walk your way...

Rebound spots Jake moments before impact, realizes that Jake is too close, but also realizes that it's far too late to change course.

"Oops."

> "No no no, no stasis lock, I'm not hurt that bad. I mean, really... aww shi-"

> He makes a 'bzzp' sound and finally shuts up.

Rebound stands over the crumpled robot. "No, robot, I'm not smug. I'm not human either."

He then quickly goes over to Jake to make sure that he's OK.

"Jake, man, you alright? Damned sorry you got caught in that one. By the time I realized you were too close, it was just too late to change trajectory."

(If Jake is unconscious) Rebound runs through first aid treatments, hoping he didn't hurt the guy too much.
(If he's conscious) Rebound tries to help him to his feet and looks around to see what else is going on.

As Masque rides off, Jinx, you stroll cautiously over to the demon-wrecked sport utility vehicle, checking it out with guns drawn; not necessarily pointed, but definitely present; you've been at this long enough to know the score. Besides, your 'luck' seems to be flaring...

Looking inside of what's left of that twisted ball of plastic and other materials posing as metal, you find that you see nobody within, either intact or squished. Luckily for the owner, he wasn't in the vehicle at the time. Unluckily for you, you hear him running towards you.

"Hey! My Outback (TM)!"

You turn to give him the hairy eye ball, and find that you're suddenly face-to-face with a rather red-faced U.S. Senator. You can tell that because he's got a name tag on that says "Hi, My Name Is Senator Ben Nelson". Nice and to the point, that.

Riding away, you whiz through several heavily trafficked streets, Masque, and you seem to cause all manner of unhappiness and confusion in your wake. You hear lots of "Hey, you (expletive deleted)!", "Watch where the (expletive deleted) you're going", and "Your (expletive deleted) mother!"

Most of this can be attributed to the sheer oddity that you represent; it's usually cops that people see on horses, not kooks in billowy robes. Of course, the whole 'super human melee in the streets where nobody can quite figure out what exactly's happening' isn't helping.

You make it to where Rebound and Ari is right as the more bombastic of your allies lands on some sort of motorcycle, apparently totaling the thing in the process, and blowing that guy from Och's apartment several feet back. Of course, he's wearing Spandex (TM) now... hm.

Rushing to Jake's side, Rebound, you find that Jake isn't unconscious, which is very impressive, because a) he already got ran over by Axer, b) you hit pretty darn hard, there, and c) he's kinda old. "Woo, don't worry about it guy, job hazard and what-have-you."

He gets up and dusts himself off, and the two of you check the area around you out just in time to see Och pitched over nearby, admittedly small buildings, by the Triskaidecanarian (who you still know by his previous old-guy alias, the Centenarian).

After you send your new friend after Och, Ari, you then menace the Triskaidecanarian proper. "Feminism, eh? I got'cher feminism RIGHT HERE." I'd describe the specific gesture the Triskaidecanarian just made, but then, this IS a family show, after a fashion.

"Er."

The good Senator seems somewhat speechless at your comment, Jinx, and just stares at you after you run off. Not in a 'checking you out' fashion so much as a 'big question mark hovering over his head' kind of way. Not that you care - not your problem.

You run as fast as you can to catch up with Masque, and thus most of the others, but find that your progress is hampered by the veritable tidal wave of chaos left in the wake of his passage. You see crowds of people outside their cars, most of which seem to have hit one another.

And an inordinate amount of steamy horse poo.

Shortly after she takes off, you finish up your work here, Stone Cold, shoring up buildings, putting out fires that seem to keep springing into action (must've been something incendiary in that ExploDetonator's skin or something), and generally engaging in karma-gaining activity.

Producing a handy ice slide, you glide over what looks like a royal mess in the streets of D.C., with people and cars and overturned apple carts being scattered all over the place. You've got a slightly higher vantage point, though, so you can see Och take flight.

Mind you, it's not quite a controlled flight, so much as it looks like somebody threw... or tossed... him. Immediately afterwards, though, this strange green, uh, leafy thing leaps up and catches him in its mouth. The thing is like about six foot tall, and dinosaur-like.

And it can fly! A few seconds after that, you catch the familiar report of Rebound bouncing into the air, presumably after Och.

Leaping into the air, Rebound, you soar up a few stories, only to see that Ari's bizarre new banana-chinned friend has caught Och before he could go splat all over the place; no Och-shaped holes in the concrete to be seen here. This leaves you stuck with bouncing your way back.

You also see that Jinx and Stone Cold are approaching, too...

Down on the street (werd), the old man in the red, white and blue Spandex (TM) frowns at you, Masque. "Don't push your luck, Smithingale. Besides, judging from the bread stick crumbs, assorted sauce stains, and that giant smear of what looks like doughnut jelly, I'm unconcerned.

"Your outfit is in much worse taste than mine."

If you didn't know better, you'd say that's a pun.

And you don't really know better, now that you think of it.

At this point, you make your move on the Triskaidecanarian, Ari. Instead of getting hit like he did last time, though, he moves with uncanny speed as you throw your foot at his ancient jiblets. He then grabs your foot in mid-motion, flinging it and, by extension you, into the air.

The only problem is that he gives your foot an impossible acceleration as he does so, causing you to fly in a ballistic arc, spinning like some sort of human throwing star all the while, until you come down on your head in the middle of the street. On top of an Sport Utility Vehicle.

These darn things are everywhere.

Again thanks to your ensorcelled sports bra, you take no physical damage from this, but you find yourself unpleasantly dizzy and queasy after that little 'trip'. Not to mention humiliated; your legs kicking out the top of that vehicle must look highly amusing to anybody but you.

Shortly thereafter, Tropius drops Och onto the ground, and the dwarf menaces the Triskaidecanarian yet again. "All right, you perverted, disrespectful, and odious old man. I do believe it's time that we settle up here, once and for all."

He then charges the Triskaidecanarian with a dwarf battle cry (you know, "AAARRGH!"). Taking a swing at the ancient villain, Och is surprised to miss him totally, as the man ducked under his swing - Och is pretty short, really, and this guy is over six foot tall.

Rising to his feet with uncanny speed for his age, the Triskaidecanarian then retorts. "You fool, you should've stayed tossed. I'm the Triskaidecanarian - feared by all world governments! I'm the man who only gets better with age... a few years from now, I'll be nigh invulnerable!"

Punching Och all over the place as he rambles, the Triskaidecanarian doesn't let up. "For now, though, I suppose you'll have to simply settle for being pulped by my veritable flurry of blows, blows that are being made with my mighty, irresistable strength, I might add."

About forty punches later (all landed within like about four seconds), Och is still standing, but he's swaying in that 'not really awake' sort of way. That's when Jinx, Rebound, and Stone Cold make their way here at long last (or simply make their way back, depending).

The Triskaidecanarian then flicks Och in the forehead, and drops him at his feet.

"Next?"

"Much less Gunslinger. I suppose I'll let you pick the jobs - just make sure we don't get totally ambushed or something in the process..."

Moebius thinks for a few minutes, and then seems to have a light bulb kick in over her head. "Hm. Y'know, now that I think of it, I probably could use some new clothes. Been wearing this stuff for quite a while. Hey. While the 'guys' go get a car, you wanna go shopping, Charlie?"

Funny how Moebius is suddenly playing nice, there...

Meanwhile, the two of you take off in Gunslinger's car to get Geoffrey's car. The trip is exceptionally uneventful, and even more exceptionally quick - that is one FAST flying automobile. When you arrive, you find your car isn't in the same shape you left it in, Geoffrey.

It's even better.

Looks like the guy you left it with has been taking very good care of it; wash, wax, polish, etc... When you ask about this, he looks a bit sheepish. "Well, you took care of that weird problem we'd been having here, so I wanted to make sure it looked nice if you made your way back.

back at the (hopefully) surprised old man. If possible, he'll aim for the old guy's feet figuring that in the worst case if the guy tries to duck this shot, he'll get swatted across the face with...well...Rebound's explosive goo (TM).

If, the old guy doesn't go for this "ploy", Rebound will just wait and try
to hit the guy after the curmudgeon dodges someone else.

Hey, wait a minute...!

"Shopping, eh?" i'm trying to think quick, here, what with Moebius usually trying to mock or kill me. Being nice just isn't her style, and being nice to ME is definitely out of the question. Well, not that i mind buying clothes to fit this nubile young body i seem to have found myself in, especially since i have no clothes to speak of (save for a suit that Geoffrey's springing for), but ... why would Moebius want to go with me, unless...

Unless she knows i'm the only one here that has any money whatsoever. Ah hah hah.

"Sure, why not?" i'll just make her model lingerie for me. Or get killed trying, i guess... hmm. But then, i'm sure she wouldn't mind if she's trying to hit me up for cash. i know how that mercenary mind of hers thinks... when it's not thinking "KILL KILL MAIM KILL BURN DISINTEGRATE" and so forth.

i guess we'll hit a few stores and see what disaster befalls us. They always do, you know, every time a bunch of super-powered mercenaries try to take a day off and buy naughty undergarments, or do the laundry, or go grocery shopping, etc... i expect that people like us never get anything done because when we try to run mundane errands, aliens invade, or the gub'ment decides to put us on ice, or freaky guys calling themselves MAGMANIMOUS or something eek out of the ground and rampage all over the mall.

Le sigh.

As the others start to circle 'round the Triskaidecanarian, Ari, you wriggle your way out of the roof of that sport utility vehicle and into the vehicle proper. Having no idear how to hot wire it, you look around and find the keys up in the sun visor - how convenient.

So you start your attempt to turn it over...

As you do, the Triskaidecanarian is moving his eyes madly, Rebound, Stone Cold. It at first looks like he's panicking, but you're not sure - he seems too 'with it' to have 'lost it' just yet. "Har... sure things, you little whipper snappers, but make it fast.

"Me and the girly-girl gots us a hot back-seat date... hur hur hur..."

You fling your ice shards at the guy, Stone Cold, but it seems he's... hitting most of them in mid-air. The guy whips about in what appears to be fast-forward, as he strikes every spiky chunk of ice that would've hit him; not all of them, just enough.

He leaves a Triskaidecanarian-shaped gap in the ice shards that stuck to the wall behind him. "Heh...," he says. He then runs towards Rebound, and does indeed take his 'best shot' - he kicks you where you live, man. The hit does no damage, per se, but you definitely FELT that.

Besides that, the explosive impact of his kick sends you flying into a nearby shop - one with a brick wall, not those flimsy glass and Styrofoam things you see on modern businesses, the cheapies. You smash into that thing, and fly back at the Triskaidecanarian recklessly.

You smash him square in the torso, but it's only too late that you realize that he angled his body in such a fashion that caused you to fly off in a direction of his choosing, more or less - right at those spiky bits of ice sticking out of the wall he was in front of moments before!!!

Thinking quickly (with that 96 or so there), you twist and contort to put YOUR body in the Triskaidecanarian-shaped gap in the ice spikes, saving yourself from a particularly unpleasant skewering. Several bounces later, after you almost level that alleyway, you get back on your feet.

Looking at the Triskaidecanarian, you can see that he's back on his feet as well. You did manage to knock him down with your strike, and even winded him a bit (from the wheezing motions he's making), but you're starting to see why Jake was so worried about this guy.

He's got more powers than he knows what to do with - super speed, super strength, apparent super durability, and maybe even some sort of super brain-power - that was a precision geometric calculation that put you where he did... made almost instantaneously!

That's when the sport utility vehicle starts up, and Ari barrels on towards the villain. "Hah! You gonna run me over, little girly-girl? YouoooooooOOOH!" Interesting... that was about the last point you expected him to slip on an errant banana peel.

These villains seem to have the WORST luck today.

The Triskaidecanarian then does one of those comical, cartoon-style slips, his feet going straight up into the air as he falls - and before he can rally, he's got a one ton sport utility vehicle parked on his rib cage. "Gackg... no fair. Should'a bought American...!"

Jake, then, walks up to the Triskaidecanarian, and calmly points his guns at the old man's head. "So. You gonna stop this chicanery or am I gonna have to exercise some 'field justice'?" The Triskaidecanarian then stops struggling, and sighs. "Fine, fine. Whatever."

Jake then grabs his satellite phone and makes a call. "Yeah, control, I need a pick-up for the Cen- well, the old man, and that robot, who - hey!" As he's talking, you all spy this bizarre, robotic red horny toad, about seven foot tall, spring down and grab Axer.

Or, what's left of him. In a gravelly voice, it says "Yoink!" and leaps off into the cityscape, almost Rebound-style - save for the lack of a big explosion...! Looking sheepish, Jake amends that call. "Eh, make it just for the old jerk. Not sure about the other one yet...!"

Heya.

Well, the first thing that you (or any other folks subscribed to the list that are still interested) should do is send me a character idea. I'm a bit behind on the addition of one new person to the game, but I've still seemingly got room to spare here or there.

From what you may've read on either this list or the v13 sub-site proper, the v13 game is a bizarre, low-powered concoction of my own creation, so if you were thinking up a character, don't gimme a Thor or other, godlike folks (no Trouble, please... heheh).

And though I seem to be blending lots of stuff into the game that isn't of my own creation, the v13 world is completely independent of the Marvel U, and I won't be featuring any folks from that line here. I've got some New U folks roaming around, but they don't count.... or something.

After that, we can go from there, I guess.

Well, it was a good idea, Gunslinger.

Being unnaturally lucky in this chain of dimensions, you should be able to defeat the casino profit margin controls to get cash quick, and it would've worked magnificently, too. The only problem, apparently, is that you've already done this a couple times.

See, you started out with approximately sixty cents in spare change wedged in the various nooks and crannies of your vehicle. Working your way up through several slot machines (embarrassingly starting with the penny machines), you managed to transform that into several hundred dollars.

Once you worked your way up to a few thousand dollars, though, the casino minders made a point of politely reminding you that you'd been banned from the place, and that if you show up again they just might have to call in some Minders (whoever they might be).

You seemed to catch the same story over and over until you got tired of not shooting people dead, Gunslinger, but at least you managed to swindle about ten grand from the places during this endeavor - not bad for a few hours of work, when you get down to it.

This is all that Gunslinger 013's fault.

Elsewhere by a few hundred miles, you do indeed go shopping with Moebius, Charlie, though you find her somewhat averse to modeling delicate under-garments for you. You're not sure why, but you get the impression if you push it, she'd blow you up - and then roll your corpse.

Anyway, by the time you've spent most of your 'hard earned' cash, you and Moebius have assembled one or two outfits to change into. This is a good thing, since the shirt that Ari girl gave you (while you think it molds you in neat ways) is making it harder and harder to breathe.

You've got about fifty bucks left, and the two of you are on your way to get some lunch in Manhattan, when it happens. You were apparently correct in your assumption that Trouble would follow you, Charlie, for it seems that the restaurant you're eating at is being robbed.

By some kook in a tuxedo and a top hat. "Hello, good ladies and sirs. Please be so kind as to relieve yourselves of your worldly possessions, and me and my associates will not find it necessary to resort to unnecessary, vulgar violence in the slightest..."

Moebius looks at you and grins.

"I can't WAIT 'till they get to our table...!"

This wind bag, and all of his 'associates', seem to be armed with Uzi 9mm hand cannons - and are wearing Groucho Marx masks. Well, save for the ring leader - he's both unarmed and unmasked. But something about him just doesn't ring right... you're not sure what, though.

Elsewhere again, by just a few miles, you get back to town after retrieving your car, Geoffrey, and you see that nobody else is in your pad at all - save for Slow Jim, who's just relaxing in the bath tub, which he's filled with a whole lot of bottled water...!

Ah, the incredible quiet.

You've retreated to your handy, Canadian cottage, Sebastian, in order to take a break from it all. You just got done interrupting some strange threat to world peace or another - there's so many - and have felt a little bit drained of late. So here you sit, out in the wilderness.

The idea was to just chill for a week or so, in order to recharge your batteries and then to get back on the job. The only problem is that it seems your reprieve has been interrupted. It's 4 A.M. here, and despite the late hour, somebody's walking around outside.

Always a light sleeper, you easily heard the crunching of leaves underfoot. The disturbing thing is that you can place at least three people outside from the distinct, repeating patterns of crunching you can hear. A quick, fleeting glance out a window reveals a silhouette.

One with what appears to be a large rifle in hand.

Well, at least it was quiet for a little while...!

Within a minute, you manage to work your electronic slate into the radio network the D.C. cops make use of, and deliver your message, Rebound. Right about then, a fellow dressed remarkably like Jake materializes out of nowhere, bearing a tranquilizer gun and a big ol' stasis pod.

He pops the Triskaidecanarian full of happy juice and, once Ari pulls that sport utility vehicle off of his chest (and you remove your sticky stuff), loads him in and vanishes (with the pod) in a jiffy. This prompts Jake to look around, and ask a smart question.

"So, anybody know what happened to the ExploDetonator?"

Other than that, you hear a bunch of sirens of various stripes approaching the area. Sure, Rebound seems to have warded off the cops from this street, but there's a whole lot of mayhem that's resulted from this trio of escapees still brewing all over town.

(and possibly more by a fleeing giant red horny toad robot thing)

By the time you hear this, though, Och seems to have recovered thanks to the quick application of Masque's, well, magic mask. Pulling himself together, he looks at all of you questioningly. "What happened? Where'd all the bad guys go?! And is everybody all right?!?"

poste haste. Ford is still the main target of all of this mayhem and we
don't have long to get to him. Jake, do you want to tag along, or do you
have anything else you need to take care of around here?"

Rebound heads for the SUV Ari had been 'driving' and climbs into the
passenger seat, waiting for everyone else to climb on in. "Hey, Ari, you
mind driving this thing a bit more since you seem to have gotten pretty good
at it. Come on, everyone, we've got to roll or the term ex-president will
take on a whole new meaning for the poor sod."

Rebound will use the slate to try and tie into the traffic-control system of
the city, giving them green lights the whole way. Finally, as they get to
the LZ, he'll check with Jake (if he came along) to see if his agents are
clear of the combat zone and if so, will give the police the go-ahead to
enter and secure the area.

Sweet get-up. At least they have something like style. They can be in the next Bat-Man (R) movie.

As soon as one of the goons approaches, i'll wait for him to demand all my worldly possessions, and i'll stand up slowly, for effect, allowing him to take in one of my swank new womens-type outfits.

i'll hand him a ten and say something like "Buddy, you can have the cash, but you can't have my stuff - it's all i've got left, aside from, oh..." That's when i show him my staff... well, the butt of my staff, at any rate, as i pop this goon between the eyes with it. As hard as i can. i'd spend Karma, but i haven't received any since my untimely demise.

That's when i charge my staff with tachyons. i'm going to try something more ... subtle than usual, here. Now, i know i can get away with wacky mayhem in space and in super-people-infested penthouses, but in the confines of a swank, crowded restaurant, i suppose i'll have to be cagey. Instead of blasting away, i'm thinking that i am going to just beat people with my staff, nailing them with tachyons THAT way, so's it looks like i've got some sort of fancy taser-dingus... i can do that, right? if so, that's how i'll be handling the other goons - assuming i got this one... who knows, he might roll a 00 to dodge... feh.

Speaking of, how many goons are there?

> Well, save for the ring leader - he's both unarmed and unmasked. But something

Pfah.

Assuming i dealt with goon numbah one, i'll leap on top of the table and twirl my staff around menacingly. "Sorry to burst your bubble, bub, but you picked the wrong party to crash!"

That sounds suitably heroic.

(ooc: Tsk tsk tsk... Charlie, you neglected to make dicey rolls... now you are at the mercy of my artistic license... I warned ya... heheheh.)

The costumed goons make their rounds about the restaurant and eventually make it to your table, Charlie. "Ladies...," say the two goons before you, in unison , motioning to what look like cheap burlap sacks as they do. To which Moebius frowns.

"Oh, oh, oh my. I do believe you're mistaken. There's no way my family jewelry can reside in such a tacky swag bag." She's talking in a surprisingly good blue-blood accent as she says this, which acts to confound your tormenters - she just doesn't look the type.

Sarcasm is completely lost on these guys.

One of them breaks away and points at you. "You! Gimme your, er, money!" He seems even more confused that you lack a purse. In his world, that's an essential part of a female's anatomy, you suppose. "Don't you have like a purse or wallet or something?"

This is when you say your peace, and clock him with the staff. You send the goon flying, and he lands on the back of his head a good five feet away from where you stand. As you leap on top of the table, scattering silverware everywhere, the other one brandishes his gun at you.

Making the fatal mistake of taking his eyes off Moebius.

The chronomancer starts speaking in tongues, after a fashion, saying strange words that make no sense to you. Before you know it, she's on the goon pointing his gun at you, punching and kicking him in a blinding array of martial malevolence. He falls down within a second.

Seeing their two pals fall down like they were rank amateurs, the other six (there, answered that question on the sly) goons stop what they're doing and come running up to you. They all then point their Uzis at you 'cinematic urban thug' style.

"Freeze!" One of them has a sense of humor.

In response to your last comment, Charlie Chicanery, the leader of this bunch chuckles. "Yes. YES! This should only help me, you silly woman. Defeating some random vigilante like you should go a long way towards repairing the Holographic Man's reputation. Yess.....!"

How now brown cow?

Elsewhere, in a much quieter section of the city...

You buy deluxe cellular telephones without Slow Jim, Geoffrey, since he's feeling rather dehydrated after the last couple days. No big deal, as you aren't harassed by anybody or anything... seems people are being proper New Yorkers today.

Shortly after you leave to contact your 'people' about 'service', you get your call from the Gunslinger, and at least you see that the phones work - and work well, you might add. Just takes a gentle touch, and someone thorough enough to read all the instructions...

It would appear that nobody else has inquired about using the services that THEM provides... but then, you only just went into business late last night. Sometimes these things take time, or advertising, or something to that effect... who knows?

Gunslinger, on the other hand, is just cooling his heels on Geoffrey's couch, watching the Boob Tube (C). Flip. Crossdressing Nazi Nuns, today on Jerry Springer! Flip. You, too, can triple your money without working hard, or having even moderate intelligence! Flip.

That looks good.

It's a live feed on your local CBS affiliate, about some kooks attempting to rob Haberdasher's, a trendy restaurant in downtown Manhattan. The reporter lady says that oddly dressed goons entered the place and started trouble, but then trouble found them!

"The police have been hesitant to enter just yet, since a ransom note for everybody present had been delivered to them, but it sounds like some sort of conflagration is occurring within..." That's when they pan away from the reporter lady to the restaurant.

Looking inside the window, you can clearly see some female wielding a staff, standing on a table, and groping her private parts while several oddly dressed people wave automatic handguns at her. You swear, you can't take those ladies ANYwhere...!

Speaking of Masque, you get the hairy eyeball from Jake as soon as you say your peace. "Well, I guess that's all right. I have people that can take him into custody as soon as it's convenient, as long as he's not about to wreck whatever cubby-hole you stuffed him into.

"Mind if we collect him after we deal with Disco Head?"

As to the rest, y'all get into Ari's 'confiscated' sport utility vehicle, and take off, though it would appear you're driving against the grain of traffic. Apparently watching you from above, Harry recommends you just stop at the nearest intersection, and climb aboard there.

He can make the ship hover over traffic whilst you all get inside; either via one of Masque's portals or just by using your own abilities... either way. Once y'all manage this, Harry takes off California-bound, with Jake in tow. Apparently he didn't have anything else to do.

From your vantage point, you can easily see the four people roaming around outside your cabin. Well, five as it turns out, but the fifth seems somewhat... different from the others. He's hanging back, barely visible in the trees, while the others peer in through windows and such.

When one of them gets somewhat close to him, he reaches down to the ground and picks up a twig, snapping it in a very quiet fashion; only the guy close to him could've heard it. That fellow looks up, and makes his way slowly towards the trees.

Not seeing this guy, he walks right into an ambush, getting bashed in the head with what looks like a cane. He falls to the ground with a grunt, and the mysterious fellow in the trees drags him out of view. Before anything else happens, though, you hear glass breaking.

Apparently these fellows have decided on forcible entry, and are making their way into your cabin. For reference, the three fellows that seem to be entering were wearing black body suits, with webbing and pouches to hold all kinds of stuff.

The fellow in the trees, you're not sure, but seemed to be in just jeans and a T-shirt... but then, it was hard to make his features out exactly. Despite the rather bright moonlight, foliage obscures your view of him somewhat, not that it matters just yet.

There's people in your pad, after all!

They're professional, too... you can't hear them talking at all... perhaps they're using hand signals or something to that effect...

You bide your time, and soon enough somebody discovers your secret entrance to the attic. It took these guys about six minutes, though, so it makes you wonder just how bright your little home invaders here are. But, at least one finally did.

Watching from outside, you see him creeping up the stairs, waving his gun to and fro like crazy and preparing death for every imagined threat he encounters. When he finds none, the man finishes his ascent and starts poking around in the attic proper.

He knocks a few things over here and there, and eventually makes towards the open window like a moth towards the flame. That's when you seize his M-16 and pull it forward, an action which drags him forth as well, allowing you to clock him in the head and send him flying.

"Urrrgh!"

One of the other men in your cabin comes running out of the place as soon as he hears this, and sees his (unconscious) comrade on the ground. He looks up, and doesn't see you, so he gets very nervous - and pulls out a bulky looking cellular-type phone.

"Hey guys, I just found, uh...," after pulling the guy's face mask off, he continues. "... Bob here, out cold on the ground. Guys?" That's when goon number four falls out the window that this brainchild just came through, making an "Arrgh!" sound.

"Oh crap."

From inside your cabin, you hear someone say "Guess who?"

Your maneuver throws the gaggle of goons into complete chaos, Charlie. They all start turning around to see where you got to, prepared to perforate you for your perfidy, when again, they realize their mistake. They also took their eyes off Moebius.

As soon as they all turn, she is among them, moving at ridiculous speeds and bashing as many as she can get her hands or feet or forehead on. This bedlam causes most of them to lose their firearms, allowing you to dish out a heaping helping of harming at your leisure.

Within about twelve seconds, the two of you have put all of these guys down for the count, and even managed to avoid killing anybody - spectators included. This causes quite a stir within the place, as a bunch of people start clapping and cheering you on.

"You go, girls!"

Outside, the rest of you pull up to Haberdashers. Slow Jim has been keeping you up to date on the situation, Geoffrey, which has mostly been a crushing play-by-play of the girls' dealing with these gun-toting buffoons. You find yourself happy that nobody's died yet.

That's when the windows inside all go white, as if someone's televisions had pulled an anti-fade. It looks like somebody doesn't want you seeing just what's going on inside, an act which unsettles most of the police and reporters here... that's not normal, after all.

Inside again, the two of you stand over your defeated foes, while the Holographic Man fehs. "Feh. I suppose I'll have to get some smarter goons, yes. But regardless, this will allow me to prove to the world that the Holographic Man is here - and in the big leagues!"

He then snaps his fingers, causing two small devices by the door to kick on, and they project... something at the windows. You can't quite tell what, since it's very very bright, but this jerk is apparently filming the whole thing with a camera sitting a few feet away from him.

"Yes... let's do this!"

Sebastian figures that whomever had been helping him on the ground
managed to get inside his cabin and clubbed the other goon. Which
means, if his memory serves him right, that there is probably only
one or two brain-deprived soldiers currently active. Sebastian
couldn't help but wonder how such a lack of intelligence could have
allowed them to even be considered as soldiers...

Sebastian notes with some interest that his mysterious ally doesn't
seem particularly afraid of armed opponents. Yet, with the type of
clothing he's wearing, any protective equipment is out of the
question. The obvious possibility edges its way into the forefront of
his thoughts: another "gifted"? Sebastian pulls out the flare gun and
takes as much time as possible to aim at the soldier's right hand,
hoping to hurt him enough to prevent him from using his weapon.

You do a quadruple flip from on top of one of those goons right in front of the Holographic Man, Charlie, though you didn't quite have the effect you had in mind. You land right in front of this boob, who has his high tech looking gun now pressed against your forehead.

Sensing your cultural references, he simply says "Dodge this," and fires. You feel a sensation of warmth as he hits you dead on in the center of your forehead with the (yes) laser gun, but oddly not much else. You then find yourself falling back onto your posterior.

Sensing something wrong, you put your hand up to your forehead, and feel a tiny little hole. Similarly, you then put your other hand on the back of your head, and feel another one. This clown shot a hole clean through your head - and you're still alive!

(you dodged poorly, but made your FEAT vs. a Kill shot nicely)

Not realizing that you're still alive, Moebius blows a gasket at this, and rushes the Holographic Man at ridiculous, time-boosted speeds. She's on him like a speeding bullet, but her blows pass through the man as though he were the ghost YOU should be right now.

He then laughs. "Ha ha ha ha ha! You pathetic retard, haven't you been paying attention? 'Holographic' Man? You're punching one of my many defense mechanisms - a simple light projection. You silly super heroes always amaze me with your predictable... predictability! Ha ha ha!"

This, then, causes Moebius to growl.

"Who said I was a hero...?"

She then unsheathes her sword...

Outside Haberdasher's...

As the two of you approach Haberdasher's, you find the crowd parting nicely despite their wish to see 'what's going on', Geoffrey, Gunslinger. Somebody's telekinetic gifts may have something to do with that, but the world may never know.

When you confront the lead police officer here, Geoffrey, he seems rather unwilling to let you anywhere near the place, but the freaky-weird light show would appear to have unnerved him some. "Eh, I suppose - you better not be pulling my chain, though - or I'll bust you!"

What for, and how, you have no idea, but the two of you then proceed unhindered towards the front face of Haberdasher's, the eyes of the crowd - and the lenses of several cameras - trained upon your backsides. No pressure here, not at all.

Especially when two ebony-hued ninjas break out of the glowing glass windows spectacularly! These two fellows, one leaping out of each window, seem rather heavily - and fancifully - armed. They're loaded to the gills with pouches and bandoilers filled to the brim with... stuff.

And they've got glowing energy ninja swords, too... imagine that.

You tag the sole conscious fellow before you with the flare gun right where you wanted, causing him to lose his gun rather quickly. "Ow! Hey! No fair! I --" He stops babbling when he's rushed by that mysterious fellow that was, just a second ago, in your cabin.

He jabs the now-unarmed goon in the side of his head with one of his two canes, and drops him, unconscious, on the ground. That makes three home invaders out cold before you, with a fourth hidden... somewhere out in the woods nearby. "Heh... same ol', same ol'."

Lickety split, the fellow in the jeans and T-shirt you saw out in the woods exits your cabin, and ties these three fellows up in record time. He binds them in complex knots that don't look painful, but definitely ensure that these guys aren't going anywhere.

The man then looks up at you, puts his hands through his long black hair, and grins. "S'up?"

Jinx has done her best to direct the squad and as such, pulls in her probability field tightly around her, preparing for combat.

After acknowledging Rebound's nod and movement, she'd make her way toward another broken window, picking up a stone or other small piece of detritus from the ground and tossing it through the window, determining if a forcefield or other hazard was present.

Should the bit o' stuff fly harmlessly through the window, Jinx would dive through, hand cannons drawn, attempting to locate their quarry.

Although maths were not his best subject, he's quite sure that there was at least a fourth member and he looks around, hoping to see him. As he checks the woods, he reloads the flare gun and fires high in the sky, hoping to light up the area.

Finally, he turns to the man below and says:

Oy. Since the Holographic Soon To Be Dead Man seems to have discounted me currently, i'm going to just sit here, pretending to be in something akin to a stupor. However i, Charlie Chicanery, will be scanning the area intently with all my senses, looking for any sign of this retard's location. i know he has to be close, since he just blasted me in hte head for real (unless that's a holographic hole in me noggin).

Failing this, i am going to do something otherwise strategic. This goon seems to have gone to a great deal of trouble to project... something outside. If i, Charlie Chicanery cannot find him with my (admittedly non-super-human) sensory systems, then i, Charlie Chicanery, will go cause me a ruckus, and smash up those projector thingers.

That ought to get his bloomers in a bunch.

(your echelon-friendly mayhem continues...)

As Harry lifts off with his ship, presumably hovering just a few feet off the ground (the thing is INVISIBLE, after all), the rest of you get your move on and head towards former President Ford's besmirched residence. Well, all save for Masque, that is.

He goes and squats behind a bush... you don't want to know.

While your teammates leap into action, as it were, you take cover and start doing your magic thing, Masque. Releasing your consciousness from its physical shackles, your mind races into the crime scene, and you behold a very... colorful assortment of bad guys.

There's seven of them in all, most of which look like relics from your circus past. They've got very interesting costumes and accessories, and you could swear that they belong on some sort of Saturday morning cartoon - not that you'd ever watch such a thing.

By the time you get back to your body, though, it all goes down.

You leap in a handy window, Rebound, and see that somebody made their way through this study in a hurry - the door leading to the house beyond has been knocked off its hinges, and is laying across a hall in several wooden bits. No immediate sign of trouble, so you press further...

Peeking into the hallway, you almost lose your head when someone fires a gun at you! Lurching back, you peek back out a few seconds later, but find yourself bowled over by a man with a peg leg. "Arrh, matey, prepare to get your gizzard cut out!"

You look at him, and have a hard time believing your eyes. This guy's wearing a black dew-rag with the skull and crossbones on it, a black eye patch, a billowy red silken, long sleeved shirt, blue trousers, and one leather boot. And he's carrying two VINTAGE pistols.

Like 1600s vintage.

"No one escapes the wrath of Browneye the Pirate!"

You look at this kook and see that he does, indeed, have one brown eye.

You throw a shard of broken glass through another window, Jinx, and when it's not disintegrated or otherwise man-handled, you also make your way into this beautiful home. The last thing YOU are about to do is let something bad happen to a former President...!

This looks to be a guest bedroom of sorts, for there aren't many personal effects handy, but there is a bed, a dresser, and a desk with a telephone and what looks like an older personal computer - the case says it's a '486', and does so with pride.

The only problem with this room is that it is not unoccupied. Looking at the bed, you see a rather tall African American fellow, complete with 70s style afro, a gold chain with the 'male' symbol hanging on it, and white bell bottoms lounging on top.

He pats the space next to him on the bed, and grins an impossible grin. Suddenly, you detect a strange smell in the air momentarily, and you start to breathe funny. Not funny ha-ha, by the way, but that special, personal sort of 'first date' funny breathing.

"Hey baby, why don't you come sit for a spell? I don't bite... much..."

He then winks at you luridly!

You brandish a ball at Tropius, and though it gives you the saddest look you've ever seen, it lets you put it back in, returning to the device after you trigger it with the singular button on the outside. You then join Och, who races after Jinx and Rebound.

The two of you make for the front door, which Och promptly kicks in; so much for subtlety. "All right, who the Hell wants a piece of this?!" Och brandishes his golden axe at the foyer, which happens to be occupied - by several costumed maniacs.

Including Disco Head.

"Oh ho ho... so quickly you sorry lot arrive. So be it. Miss Behavior - take me and Ford to the Discothque of Doom. The rest of you, deal with these interlopers, and your obligation to me for freeing you from those government stooges will be complete. Do it!"

With this, Disco Head, Miss Behavior (a lady with a big blue afro and a long blue evening gown) and a shackled President Ford vanish, leaving you with the rest of these fellows, who then advance on you. You specifically are approached by what looks like a doctor.

It's a man with a long white lab coat, a stethoscope around his neck, black trousers, shiny, shiny black leather shoes, and one of those little mirror thingies on his head (forgive me, it's late and I can't come up with the word for it). He's brandishing calipers at you, Ari.

"My my my... another patient to see the Obstinatrician already?"

You don't want to know what the calipers are supposed to be for.

The pervert.

It seems like today is your day to meet 'em, Ari.

Och, on the other hand, is menaced by a fellow in a black pin-striped suit, white leather shoes, and a black turban. Before Och can say anything, the guy starts... dancing. Old school. "Behold your betters, infidels. I am... the Sultan of Swing!"

The self-declared Sultan then clocks Och in the head, launching him back out of Ford's home, and right past Stone Cold, who was just making his way there (he's big and rocky - and thus not quite as fast as the others... yeah, that's it).

You were going to try and catch the guy, but somebody decided to interrupt you before you could, Stoney. "Huh... big rocky guy, with baby snow caps on top... hm. I think I got the tool for that..." Looking to your left, you see a pudgy fellow with a truly heroic tool belt on.

Other than that, he's just wearing a dirty, sleeveless T-shirt, worn blue jeans, big ol' orange work boots, and a bright yellow, dented construction hat. He is carrying a gigantic tool box, though, one which has "The Utoolitarian" carved into it, presumably with a dremel.

He digs around in the box for a few seconds, and sighs with satisfaction. "Yeah, this ought to do it..."

!??!?

You fire on one of the energy sword brandishing ninjas, Gunslinger, and find yourself impressed when he takes it full-on in the chest. The fellow gets knocked back into the front of Haberdasher's, and the restaurant's brick face gets a nice, ninja-shaped hole in it.

You're even more impressed when he gets UP.

He gives you the hairy eye ball, then starts circling 'round you. "I do hope you've got more than that, friend..." The guy is twirling his energy katana with quite some skill, making it look as though he's going to Ginzu (TM) you but good. But he doesn't attack. Not yet.

On the other hand, you cast a psi-web around the second ninja, Geoffrey but this guy seems to walk right through it. "Fool! I am Ninja! Your trickery cannot stop those of my caliber! He then begins to circle you as well, but he doesn't attack. Not yet.

Inside, you find that the Holographic Man is indeed preoccupied with Moebius, Charlie. However, you can't seem to locate this jerk, no matter how hard you try... either he's invisible or just making a hologram of empty space around himself... or something.

So, you head to the window projectors, and you smash one but good. Suddenly, you can see outside again, and see Geoffrey looking somewhat surprised. Racing to the other one as the Holographic Man screams "No!", you hit the second, and suddenly see Gunslinger outside.

Outside, your ninja foes vanished without a trace, each time accompanied by the disappearance of that white glow in one of Haberdasher's windows - and the reappearance of Charlie Chicanery. Furthermore, the damage that was done to the place vanished as well.

That's quite a sophisticated hologram projection system, there.

Looking outside, Charlie, you are not blinded by a flash of light you see reflected off the walls before you; nor are you fellows outside (the windows are tinted). Turning around, you see Moebius standing sort of shakily, her hands outstretched in front of her.

She looks like she can't quite see, which is when the Holographic Man reappears. "Back off, you dumb broad, or I'll plug her!" The villain has his gun trained on your infernal ally, and since he already shot you in the head once, you know he ain't bluffing...!
