Those Cobra operatives who become drivers for the advanced Stinger 4x4 Night Attack Vehicle are the elite amongst the already exceptional Cobra officers. Those officers who are appropriately qualified are given extensive training in vehicle to vehicle combat techniques, and trained in great detail about the Stinger and how it works. Though it's hard getting there, many officers prefer this job to infantry duty.

AK-47 Assault Rifle: this Russian-built rifle is built to last, being readily adapted for almost any duty imaginable. It may discharge a single shot to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage, a short burst of rounds to inflict Good (10) Shooting damage, or a fully automatic burst of ammunition to inflict Excellent (20) Shooting damage. The latter burns magazines, but Cobra Stinger drivers carry several on hand.

Helmet: all Cobra Stinger drivers wear a helmet in order to increase relative safety on the field, and to protect from the ever-deadly head shot. Made of Excellent (20) material strength metals, this helmet offers its wearer Good (10) protection from physical attacks that strike them in the cranium. This may not be enough to deflect all damage in a given instance, but it nonetheless helps to save lives.

Knife: though they'd rather not do so, all Cobra Stinger drivers are equipped to fight hand to hand in the event that they completely run out of ammunition (and they usually carry several spare magazines to prevent this). These blades are of Remarkable (30) material strength, and in a Cobra Stinger driver's hands, they can be used to inflict Typical (6) Edged Attack damage per deadly strike.

Stinger 4x4 Night Attack Vehicle: the equipment that makes the Stinger driver distinctive from ordinary Cobra officers, this four wheel drive, off-road, Jeep-like vehicle is exceptionally deadly. Capable of being driven almost anywhere, and armed with four powerful missiles, the Stinger is a powerful addition to Cobra's arsenal that is described in its own vehicular description.

Talents:

Detective / Espionage: one of the skills that give Cobra Stinger drivers an edge over their subordinates is their ability to worm their way into a facility and pose as an ordinary staff member, whether it be a nuclear power plant, defense contractor, or even a television station. Cobra Stinger drivers receive a +1 CS to all infiltration attempts, as well as their other detective capabilities.

Guns: a given prerequisite, all Cobra operatives must have the ability to use a gun in combat; no one can advance to the rank of Stinger driver without having mastered at least one firearm. Any Cobra Stinger driver can use a standard, semi-automatic, or fully automatic rifle or pistol with proficiency, doing so as though his or her Agility score was +1 CS higher than is listed above.

Martial Arts type A or B: furthermore, all Cobra Stinger drivers are trained in at least one form of unarmed combat once they hook up with the group, if they don't already have one under their belt. Most learn type B, allowing them to make unarmed melee attacks at their Fighting score +1 CS, but some opt to learn type A, allowing them to Slam or Stun opponents much more easily.

Military: a quasi-military organization, Cobra encourages an easily recognizable (to those within, at least) command structure. As such, those not bringing experience in such matters tend to pick it up quickly, in order to rise through the ranks; those who don't typically don't get this far. This skill allows a +1 CS to any Reason or Intuition FEAT based on the workings of military dogma.

Vehicular Combat: well trained in this aspect of warfare, all Stinger drivers are given a several month long course in how to most effectively fight vehicle to vehicle, or to use their vehicle to advantage against infantry troops. This talent allows Stinger drivers to make any combat FEAT regarding their chosen vehicles at +1 CS to the applicable score, whether it be an offensive or defensive maneuver.

Contacts:

Cobra Stinger drivers theoretically have the entire organization of Cobra as their contact, in that they are members of the group and supposedly have the same goals. However, if it is more convenient to let a driver get captured or otherwise take a fall, the Cobra Command is more than happy to let this happen. Unless a specific Stinger driver has something the Command needs, he or she is ultimately expendable.

The standard Cobra Stinger driver's uniform consists of a light gray jumpsuit, accompanied with a light gray helmet, and bears the Cobra sigil, in red, on the front upper torso. The uniform is then complemented by black gloves, black boots, a black strap-on knife sheath, a black, pouch-riddled belt, black webbing with pockets for extra magazines, and a black face mask.

Notes:

Stinger drivers are the best there is at what they do, being highly trained terrorists who know the capabilities of their designated vehicles inside and out - this in addition to their already strong military and infiltration skills. Stinger drivers are highly ranked in the Cobra infantry, and are often placed in charge of missions - especially those which involve the use of one or more Stingers.

The second Cobra Stinger driver's uniform includes a light gray jumpsuit, accompanied with a light gray helmet, and bears the Cobra sigil, in red, on the front upper torso. The uniform is then complemented by black gloves, black boots, black knee-pads, a black strap-on knife sheath, a black, pouch-riddled belt, black webbing with pockets for extra magazines, and a black face mask.

2009 Variations

Equipment:

Semi-automatic Pistol: though they never bothered with one before, Cobra's Stinger drivers began carrying a back-up piece with them on missions in 2009. They may discharge this firearm to inflict Typical (6) Shooting damage in a single shot, or Good (10) Shooting damage in a semi-automatic burst of gunfire. As is the case with their AK, Stinger drivers carry several magazines for this piece.

The third Cobra Stinger driver's uniform includes a light gray jumpsuit, accompanied with a light gray and black helmet, and bears the Cobra sigil, in red, on the front upper torso.
