Toocheetsch is a paranormal, an altered human who gained his powers during the White Event, an astronomical incident that forever set his world apart from our standard reality. His particular powers give him the ability to control his very mass, to various effects.

Known Powers:

Density Control / Self: Nikolai's parability allows him to manipulate his mass, raising or lowering it as he sees fit. When he first acquired this power, it caused him to swell in size, making him appear like an incredibly tall, incredibly obese man (hence his code name).

Once he learned how to operate his power, however, he mastered the trick of returning to his original volume - all while retaining an increased mass. When his power is active (regardless of his current size), he can achieve Remarkable (30) density, having like body armor:

Equipment:

Comm Gear: like most other members of the Medusa Web, Nikolai has a transceiver headset that allows him to communicate with Babel with Excellent (20) range (100 miles). It can send video to a control center, but it also has the ability to send and receive audio signals.

Quirks:

Unattractive: Nikolai's appearance is generally unattractive to most folks, since he looks huge. This, of course, is offset by his kind and generous personality, but people love their first impressions. Those who dislike the overweight treat Nikolai as if his Popularity was -2 CS.

Talents:

Detective / Espionage: after his family was recovered by the Web from the USSR, Nikolai was trained in various espionage techniques to facilitate his impersonation of Mikhail Gorbachev. Any FEATs he attempts in this area should be considered +1 CS.

Languages / English and Russian: Nikolai speaks fluent Russian (being from Russia) and some broken English. Not a whole lot, mind you, but enough to minimally get by. Once he donned his Gorbachev guise, though, he may have needed to complete his English training.

Martial Arts type B: since his body is built for beating on things, Nikolai has been trained how to brawl by the Medusa Web. He may attempt unarmed melee attacks at a +1 CS, whether they be punches, kicks, head butts, elbow drops, knee smashes, or whatever.

Contacts:

Nikolai is a member of the Medusa Web, though he is no longer participates in this group's more violent operations. In fact, he is currently acting as an impostor for a removed Mikhail Gorbachev, as the Web needed to get control of the USSR for their purposes of global unification.

As such, Nikolai can draw upon both the Web and the USSR's resources should he find it necessary.

Costume:

While active in the field, Nikolai had difficulty finding clothing that could really fit him, being puffy like he was. Thus, while engaged in combat, he wore shiny black leather boots, as well as camouflage pants that were custom tailored to fit his enormity.

Now that he has a much more insidious job, posing as Mikhail Gorbachev, Nikolai wears sharp business attire at all times.

Nikolai is an extremely kind man, and he hates working for the Medusa Web, but it was the only way he could afford to bring his family to America. He despises conflict, but if he has to fight, he'll do it with true bravery and all the effort he can muster.

Story:

Before the White Event, Nikolai was but an ordinary farmer, toiling his life away on one of any number of countless communes behind the Iron Curtain. However, things changed dramatically for Nikolai after the White Event, for his body quickly changed after that strange phenomenon.

His body swelling in size significantly, one could easily mistake Nikolai for the most corpulent of men. However, it wasn't his size that had changed, strictly speaking, so much as his mass, though Nikolai did not know this. However, others who watched for such things did.

Before the so-called Siberian Project could get its hooks in Nikolai, he was made an offer he couldn't refuse by a clandestine organization known as the Medusa Web. To wit, if he joined them and did their bidding, the Web would arrange for his family to be moved to America.

His only detailed mission with this group occurred when he joined several other Medusa Web operatives in their attack on the Horton Plaza, where several members of Psi-Force were hiding out. He attacked Kathy Ling, but was knocked silly by a new trick she'd mastered.

It was a concussion strike, a massive burst of force channeled through her fist. Not expecting such force from the frail looking girl, he was literally floored by his miscalculation. The teens were eventually caught by the Web, and then taken by the US government.

After this incident, Babel freed Nikolai's family from the USSR at long last, and per the deal between him and the Medusa Web, he discarded his previous life completely to perform the task presented to him by the subversive group: the replacement of Mikhail Gorbachev!

Believing that Nikolai's true powers were those of mass manipulation, Babel paid for a detailed study of his physiology, and learned that he was indeed correct. As such, he trained Nikolai how to contract his mass so he could become an approximate double of the communist leader.

After plastic surgery, hair implantation, and an intensive study of the Politburo, Nikolai was ready for his final task, and the Medusa Web delivered him back to Moscow to enact their charade. Once this operation was a success, the Medusa Web was effectively in control of the USSR.

However, what they've since done with this control has yet to be revealed.
