Origin:

Like all other Predacons, Dark Scream is an electromechanical being from Cybertron, an evil robot that has waged war against the heroic Autobots in a bid to conquer the universe. This alien may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place on earth.

Known Powers:

Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Predacons, Dark Scream is a robotic entity of Cybertronian origin. As such, this aerial combatant has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Dark Scream these super-human powers:

* Body Armor: like most Cybertronians, Dark Scream came on-line with a reinforced steel frame, one that offers him rank value 20 resistance to injury. While not as durable as some of the larger Predacons, Dark Scream is still rather resilient. His defense breaks down like so:

* Growth: Cybertronians come in all manner of sizes, few of which align with the human norm. Dark Scream, for instance, stands at approximately nine feet tall in his humanoid mode, which grants him this power at rank value 2 as a general matter of course.

Unlike most Cybertronians on earth, this leaves Dark Scream with a size factor of zero (0). Though he's quite powerful in his own right, Dark Scream is generally at a disadvantage when battling larger robots - which is why he usually works alongside Gas Skunk and Slapper.

* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity where distance is concerned. Functioning at rank value 2, these powers let Dark Scream see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing him to read items on microfiche.

* Radio Transceiver: as are most Transformers on earth, Dark Scream is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other nearby Cybertronians, having rank value 20 range (100 miles).

* Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison: as an inorganic life form, Dark Scream possesses complete immunity to poisons and organic diseases. He also possesses rank value 100 resistance to more chemically creative forms of disease.

Center Laser: Dark Scream can fire a freeze beam from a large emitter on his chest, which inflicts rank value 20 Energy damage per strike. However, if he combines this beam with those of Gas Skunk and Slapper, the trio's attacks combined inflict +2 RS damage altogether.

Claws: both of Dark Scream's forms are armed with powerful claws with which he can tear his opponents to shreds. Regardless of his current form, Dark Scream can use these claws to inflict his Brawn value (30) in Slashing damage per deadly slash.

Fangs: in his beast mode, Dark Scream is armed with a very large pair of fangs with which to rend his foes into little itty bitty pieces. He can use these in battle to inflict his Brawn value (30) in Slashing damage with every bite.

Flight: Dark Scream has two small, powerful wings he can use to fly at rank value 30 speed (204.55 m.p.h.). The edges of these wings have been sharpened considerably, and Dark Scream can use them to inflict his Brawn value in Slashing damage with a fly-by assault.

Infravision: Dark Scream can see into the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, which comes in handy when setting up nocturnal ambushes or other attacks when foes simply can't see clearly. He can use this rank value 50 power in both of his forms.

Shape Change: as can be guessed by looking at various parts of his anatomy, Dark Scream can transform into a large, flying squirrel with a techno-organic aspect. As he can fly and use most of his powers in both shapes, Dark Scream is equally at home in both of his forms.

Equipment:

Dark Sword: this dangerous blade, stored within his tail when not in use, makes Dark Scream dangerous in melee. He can use this blade to inflict rank value 30 Slashing damage per deadly strike, and can cut through materials of up to m.v. 75 with it.

Skills:

Aerial Combat: since it's his job, Dark Scream knows how to fight well while propelling himself through the air. Whenever he is required to make any combat roll (whether it be Melee or Coordination based), Dark Scream may do so at a +1 RS if he's flying while doing so.

Skill / Swords: naturally, Dark Scream also has considerable skill in the use of his Dark Sword and, by extension, all sword-like blades. He can use such weapons in melee at his Melee value +1 RS, a bonus that can stack with his Aerial Combat enhancements (he's that good!)

Contacts:

As a Predacon, Dark Scream can theoretically rely on any of Megatron's minions for assistance in a pinch. However, he tends to work with Gas Skunk and Slapper more than the others, and usually sides with Sky-Byte in disputes between the Predacons and the Decepticons.

Likeness:

When in his blue and white flying squirrel mode, Dark Scream looks like a half living, half mechanical monstrosity. In his robot mode, Dark Scream appears to be a humanoid construct built from the parts of an immense blue and white squirrel.

Personality:

Dark Scream finds himself fascinated with earthly Samurai movies, and other poignant period pieces - probably because they showcase his own abilities so much. He's also more at home in the night than otherwise, probably because his abilities are best suited for nocturnal work.

Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Dark Scream is made of a strong, alien metal that is primarily blue and white in hue, adorned with chrome bits and fur regardless of his current form.

Story:

Dark Scream is one of many Predacons working for Megatron, a powerful Cybertronian warrior that journeyed to modern-day earth with various schemes in mind. Exactly how Dark Scream came to be in Megatron's service, as well as what time period he's actually from, is still a mystery.

Regardless, he came to earth with Megatron and the other Predacons, only to find that the planet was lousy with Autobots; somehow, the heroic Cybertronians knew well in advance that Megatron and company were on their way, and had quite a lot of time to prepare for their arrival.

Though he is mainly an aerial warrior, one who specializes in ambushes from above and surveillance work, Dark Scream often finds himself working in decidedly non-airborne operations on his many assignments, in which he's usually accompanied by and Gas Skunk and Slapper.

This trio's missions mostly involve fetching something or other for either Megatron or Sky-Byte, Megatron's lieutenant. However, something seems to always goes wrong with their plans, and they usually fail outright - but Dark Scream and company have had their fair share of successes.

With the arrival of the Decepticons on earth, Megatron relied on his Predacons less and less. This caused increasing tension between the two groups of evil Cybertronians, which came to a head when the Decepticon leader, Scourge, tried to bump off Galvatron (an enhanced Megatron).

After this, Dark Scream and his fellow Predacons returned to their leader's good graces, though they were ultimately defeated in their bid to take control of the mightiest Autobot of all, Fortress Maximus. Captured after their defeat, the Predacons were locked up in a penal asteroid colony.

Whether or not Dark Scream will ever escape this imprisonment has yet to be revealed.
