Origin:

Like all other Predacons, Dark Scream is an electromechanical being from Cybertron, an evil robot that has waged war against the heroic Autobots in a bid to conquer the universe. This alien may also be from another time period, making him doubly out of place on earth.

Powers:

Cybertronian Physique: like his fellow Predacons, Dark Scream is a robotic entity of Cybertronian origin. As such, this aerial combatant has, by his very nature, the use of a large variety of abilities that reflect this. His very body gives Dark Scream these super-human powers:

* Body Armor (s): made (or formed) from primarily metallic materials, Dark Scream is considerably durable. His sturdy, inorganic composition affords Dark Scream intensity 8 (+2) protection from attack, enough to make him strongly resistant to most basic human assaults.

* Growth (a): Cybertronians come in all manner of sizes, few of which align with the human norm. Dark Scream, for instance, normally stands at approximately nine feet tall in his humanoid mode, which grants him this power at intensity 1 as a general matter of course.

As such, this unruly rodent has a +1 size factor. This grants him a +1 bonus to the damage he inflicts on normal sized foes, while theirs suffers a -1 against him. Conversely, he suffers a -1 penalty to strike standard sized enemies in the first place, while they gain a +1 to hit him.

* Microscopic + Telescopic Vision (w): all Transformers can alter their visual sensitivity where distance is concerned. Functioning at intensity 2, these powers let Dark Scream see objects up to a mile distant with ease, and allow him to read items on microfiche.

* Radio Transceiver (i): as are most Transformers, Dark Scream is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Cybertronian within a wide radius of his person, having intensity 7 range (100 miles).

* Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison (s): as an inorganic life form, Dark Scream possesses complete immunity to poisons and organic diseases. He also possesses intensity 30 (+7) resistance to more chemically creative forms of disease.

Center Laser (i): Dark Scream can fire a freeze beam from a large emitter on his chest, which inflicts intensity 10 damage per strike, and may stun his foes. However, if he combines this beam with those of Slapper and Gas Skunk, the trio's attacks combined inflict +2 damage altogether.

Claws (s): both of Dark Scream's forms are armed with powerful claws with which he can tear his opponents to shreds. Regardless of his current form, Dark Scream can use these claws to inflict damage as though they were +2 weapons with every deadly slash.

Fangs (s): in his beast mode, Dark Scream is armed with a very large pair of fangs with which to rend his foes into little itty bitty pieces. He can use these in battle to inflict damage as though they were +2 weapons, causing considerable damage to whoever he's currently biting.

Flight (a): Dark Scream has two small, powerful wings he can use to fly at intensity 6 speed (240 m.p.h.).The edges of these wings have been sharpened considerably, and Dark Scream can use them to inflict damage in a fly-by attack as if they were +3 weapons.

Infravision (w): Dark Scream can see into the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, which comes in handy when setting up nocturnal ambushes or other attacks when foes simply can't see clearly. He can use this intensity 14 power in both of his forms.

Shape Change (a): as can be guessed by looking at various parts of his anatomy, Dark Scream can transform into a large, flying squirrel with a techno-organic aspect. As he can fly and use most of his powers in both shapes, Dark Scream is equally at home in both of his forms.

Equipment:

Dark Sword (s): this dangerous blade, stored within his tail when not in use, makes Dark Scream dangerous in melee. He can use this blade to inflict damage as though it were a +4 weapon per deadly strike, and can cut through materials of up to strength 18 with it.

Skills:

Aerial Combat (a): since it's his job, Dark Scream knows how to fight well while propelling himself through the air. Whenever Dark Scream attempts any combat action while he's airborne (either under his own power or otherwise), he may do so at a reduced difficulty level.

Skill / Swords (s): Dark Scream also has considerable skill in the use of his Dark Sword and, by extension, all sword-like blades. He can use such weapons in melee at one difficulty level lower than normal - a bonus that stacks with his Aerial Combat enhancements (he's that good!)

Contacts:

As a Predacon, Dark Scream can theoretically rely on any of Megatron's minions for assistance in a pinch. However, he tends to work with Gas Skunk and Slapper more than the others, and usually sides with Sky-Byte in disputes between the Predacons and the Decepticons.

Calling:

World Domination: like the majority of the Megatron's minions, Dark Scream is in the fight for the glory that conquest brings. He wants nothing more than to take over the universe, or at least a small portion of it, to force his will upon it and its occupants.

Likeness:

When in his blue and white flying squirrel mode, Dark Scream looks like a half living, half mechanical monstrosity. In his robot mode, Dark Scream appears to be a humanoid construct built from the parts of an immense blue and white squirrel.

Personality:

Dark Scream finds himself fascinated with earthly Samurai movies, and other poignant period pieces - probably because they showcase his own abilities so much. He's also more at home in the night than otherwise, probably because his abilities are best suited for nocturnal work.

Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Dark Scream is made of a strong, alien metal that is primarily blue and white in hue, adorned with chrome bits and fur regardless of his current form.

Story:

Dark Scream is one of many Predacons working for Megatron, a powerful Cybertronian warrior that journeyed to modern-day earth with various schemes in mind. Exactly how Dark Scream came to be in Megatron's service, as well as what time period he's actually from, is still a mystery.

Regardless, he came to earth with Megatron and the other Predacons, only to find that the planet was lousy with Autobots; somehow, the heroic Cybertronians knew well in advance that Megatron and company were on their way, and had quite a lot of time to prepare for their arrival.

Though he is mainly an aerial warrior, one who specializes in ambushes from above and surveillance work, Dark Scream often finds himself working in decidedly non-airborne operations on his many assignments, in which he's usually accompanied by and Gas Skunk and Slapper.

This trio's missions mostly involve fetching something or other for either Megatron or Sky-Byte, Megatron's lieutenant. However, something seems to always goes wrong with their plans, and they usually fail outright - but Dark Scream and company have had their fair share of successes.

With the arrival of the Decepticons on earth, Megatron relied on his Predacons less and less. This caused increasing tension between the two groups of evil Cybertronians, which came to a head when the Decepticon leader, Scourge, tried to bump off Galvatron (an enhanced Megatron).

After this, Dark Scream and his fellow Predacons returned to their leader's good graces, though they were ultimately defeated in their bid to take control of the mightiest Autobot of all, Fortress Maximus. Captured after their defeat, the Predacons were locked up in a penal asteroid colony.

Whether or not Dark Scream will ever escape this imprisonment has yet to be revealed.
