Official groups are those which act, either partially or fully, with the approval of one or more government bodies. These organizations, almost exclusively clandestine in nature, do what they do with the express permission of the legislative bodies which create them - even if the entire government is not privy to their actions. And while some act for the greater good, some simply work to maintain a government's power.

Known official groups include the following:

the Bureau of Ascendant Humans: most often known by its acronym, BAH, the Bureau of Ascendant Humans is America's top secret, quasi-government controlled super-human policing effort. They work to keep knowledge of ascendant humans and their various activities out of the public eye, and have to do so without revealing even their own existence!
