Origin:

Bumper is a Transformer, a shape-changing mechanical life form hailing from Cybertron: a world that is of indeterminate and variable distance from our own. He possesses a variety of special abilities and powers related to his inorganic, electromechanical 'physiology'.

Known Powers:

Cybertronian Physique: Bumper is one of innumerable mechanoid life forms hailing from the planet Cybertron. Like most of his fellows, he is possessed of a variety of special powers related to his alien physiology, including the following:

* Body Armor: made (or formed) from primarily metallic materials, Bumper is rather durable. His sturdy, inorganic composition affords him Good (10) protection from attack, enough to protect him from most basic human assault. Bumper's armor breaks down as follows:

Gd 10 / Pr 4 / Sh 0 / Sh 0 / Sh 0

* Growth / Shrinking: Cybertronians come in all manner of sizes, few of which align with the human norm. Bumper, for instance, generally stands at around twelve feet tall in his humanoid mode, which grants him this power at Poor (4) rank as a general matter of course.

As such, this Autobot tactician possesses a +1 size factor. He thus suffers a -1 CS when targeting human-sized foes, but gains a +1 CS on any damage he inflicts against them. Conversely, human-sized foes assaulting him do so under the reverse of those modifiers.

While this assumes a static volume, many Transformers have demonstated that their size can be highly variable. This reflexive, dynamic size manipulation is an emergent property of Transformers overall, though such mass displacement must surely consume vast amounts of power.

These dynamic volume shifts are most often used when transforming, and enable Transformers to interact with beings of differing sizes without further modifications being required of them. This ultimately allows Transformers to wield or ride within their fellows seamlessly.

* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: all Transformers have the ability to alter their visual sensitivity where distance is concerned. Functioning at Feeble (2) rank, these powers let Bumper see objects up to a mile distant with ease, as well as allowing him to read items on microfiche.

* Radio Transceiver: as are most Transformers, Bumper is equipped with an audio / video transmission system. This communications rig allows him instant contact with any other Cybertronian within a wide radius of his person, having Excellent (20) range (100 miles).

* Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison: as an inorganic life form, Bumper possesses complete immunity to poisons and organic diseases. He also possesses Unearthly (100) resistance to more chemically creative forms of disease.

Headlights: to better emulate earthen vehicles (and since they come in handy in the dark), Bumper is equipped with a set of convenient headlights. These twin lamps can be used to generate Excellent (20) intensity illumination, making driving at night no problem.

Shape Change: whenever he desires, Bumper can transform between his humanoid and Mazda Familia 1500XG modes, and often does so quickly in battle to maximize the use of his abilities. When he's a Familia, Bumper possesses these vehicular statistics:

Limitations / Enhancements:

Quirks:

Fighting Logistics: one immediate benefit of Bumper's analytical mind is that he can easily anticipate an opponent's actions after a minute of direct study. Once he puts the time in, Bumper may add a +1 CS bonus to all ACTIONs he attempts against studied foes.

Talents:

Tactics 2: his claim to fame, Bumper's mind is always crunching the numbers. Constantly plotting the outcomes of events and plans both large and small, Bumper's plots are almost always solid, granting a +2 CS bonus to ACTIONs attempted when following them to the letter.

Contacts:

Bumper is a member of the Autobots in good standing. Even if he's not the most sociable of the 'Bots, his plans greatly bolster the Autobots' cause... and their survivability. Even if he's not a powerful combatant, he's a peerless plotter and planner.

Likeness:

In his vehicular configuration, Bumper resembles a lemon yellow Mazda Familia 1500XG, one with chrome hubcaps and black trim. When he transforms, Bumper appears to be a black and yellow robot built mainly from various distinct components of a Mazda Familia 1500XG.

Personality:

Bumper has been blessed with a relatively superior intellect, coupled with distressingly efficient sensory inputs. This double whammy makes Bumper a world-class tactician, but the difficulty he has with his forward thinking is that it often comes at the expense of his present.

While nobody would argue that Bumper is bad at his job, his fellows definitely consider him bad at people. Often considered cold and calculating by many the Autobots, since his mind is almost always on their work to come, Bumper nonetheless has many close Autobot friends.

Real Name: Bumper
Occupation: tactician
Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron with no known criminal record, either there or on earth
Marital Status: inapplicable
Alias(es), if any: none
Group Affiliation: the Autobots

Height: 12'
Hair: inapplicable
Eyes: clear
Weight: 1,907 lbs
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: regardless of his current configuration, Bumper appears to be constructed from a strong metal of yellow and black coloration. While his only vehicular mode chrome is his hubcaps, his face is fully chromed as well.

Design Notes:

I built Bumper using a translation of the only materials ever officially printed for any variation on his toy: the Estrela release. I loosely followed a 'best guess' fan-made 'Tech Spec' to arrive at the numbers above, but frankly their guesses are as good as mine.

As exactly zero of this came from Hasbro, feel free to disregard as you see fit. Alternately, instead of basing Bumper's character on the text of old Brazilian toys, you could always make use of the characterization evinced in DW or IDW comics when they used this obscure fellow.
