Origin:

Like all life forms hailing from the planet Cybertron, Hook is an inorganic electromechanical entity. A fully sentient robotic being, Hook possesses numerous special powers related to his composition and form, as well as several unique to his particular function.

Known Powers:

Cybertronian Physique: having his origins on the planet Cybertron, a metal-heavy rogue world careening through the cosmos in our general galactic neighborhood, Hook benefits from a plethora of powers common to almost all Tranformers. These powers include:

* Body Armor: like all of the Constructicons, Hook is built tough. Possessing a dense body comprised of inorganic substances, Hook benefits from Excellent (20) protection from injury, an inherent form of body armor that can be represented as follows:

Ex 20 / Ty 6 / Fe 2 / Sh 0 / Sh 0

* Growth / Shrinking: as do his fellow Constructicons, Hook stands at fifteen foot tall in his humanoid configuration, giving him Typical (6) growth as a general means of describing his volume. This grants him a size factor of +1 in relation to normal humans.

Hook swells in volume when he transforms into his Nissan Diesel Unic K-160B crane configuration, however. Having a length of just over twenty-seven feet, this gives Hook a +1 CS to his humanoid-mode growth rank, though his vehicular characteristics take his size into account.

* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: a wide-ranging visual acuity is common to the Transformers. They posses both microscopic and telescopic vision at Feeble (2) rank, allowing them to see objects farther, and far smaller, than mere fleshlings are able to.

* Radio Transceiver: while Transformers do have a sense of hearing, and readily communicate verbally, they often range far afield from their fellows. They thus make use of an Excellent (20) rank radio transcevier, one with an optimistic maximum range of one hundred miles.

* Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison: Hook is an entirely inorganic being, having been born to an electromechanical species long ago. He's immune to carbon-based plague and poison, and has Unearthly (100) resistance to other forms of disease and toxins.

Corporeal Gestalt: one of the six Constructicons, Hook can naturally merge his form with that of his fellows to form Devastator! The Constructicons all possess this power at Good (10) rank, giving them reasonable cohesion as this terrifying gestalt entity.

Crane: his pride and joy, Hook can use his crane to lift and place objects with great skill and grace. He may manipulate up to twenty tons with this appendage, giving it an effective Strength score of Amazing (50), and he may do this with Unearthly (100) ranked coordination.

Rocket Launcher: when he transforms into his Nissan Diesel Unic K-160B crane mode, Hook unlocks the use of this powerful weapon. It can launch projectiles that allow Hook to reach out and touch his foes at a distance, rocket-propelled devices that function as follows:

Shape Change: by far his most well-known ability, Hook can transform between several different configurations. He can stand as a humanoid, pose as Devastator's head and shoulders, and reconfigure himself into a Nissan Diesel Unic K-160B crane with these characteristics:

Limitations / Enhancements:

(none)

Equipment:

Laser Pistol: as he lacks inherent weaponry in his humanoid configuration, Hook carries a laser pistol with him at all times. He can fire a coherent photon beam from this weapon to inflict Good (10) Armor Piercing Energy damage with every deadly assault.

Quirks:

(none)

Talents:

Engineering: his claim to fame, Hook is a world-class engineer. A combination of perfectionism and raw skill prompts him to build truly spectacular items, vehicles, and structures, and he may design, plan, and construct such things as if his Reason was +1 CS in rank.

Repair / Tinkering: a master engineer, Hook is often called upon to repair things that are broken in the Decepticon war engine, whether they be soldiers or weapons. Whenever he's given the job to fix anything, Hook may resolve related ACTIONs with a +1 CS bonus.

Contacts:

Hook can generally consider the other five Constructicons, as well as the Decepticons overall, reliable contacts. Sure, Hook is eminently unlikable thanks to his smug sense of superiority, but he also patches the Decepticons up when the Autobots injure them.

Likeness:

Regardless of his current configuration, Hook appears to be a large electromechanical entity that is primarily bright green in hue. He adds a variable amount of dark purple to the mix, depending on what form he's in at the moment, along with chromed and black bits here and there.

Personality:

Hook is not the leader of the Constructicons, but you wouldn't know that by talking to him. If he were to be believed, all of the team's successes are by dint of his greatness, his unmatched engineering skills, and of course his peerless combat prowess.

No one argues that Hook isn't one of the Decepticons' greatest technical minds, they just hate to acknowledge it. Because Hook is already telling everyone how important he is to them and their cause, and being friendly to Hook only further encourages his smug superiority.

Real Name: Hook
Occupation: engineering expert
Legal Status: citizen of Cybertron wanted both there and on earth for any number of design crimes
Marital Status: inapplicable
Alias(es), if any: none
Group Affiliation: the Constructicons, the Decepticons

Height: 15'
Hair: inapplicable
Eyes: red or blue (depending on continuity)
Weight: several tons
Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Hook is made from strong alien materials that are primarily bright green and dark purple in coloration, no matter what form he takes. Hook's vehicular form is entirely bright green save for its dark purple windows and chromed frame.

His humanoid configuration has bright green limbs (save for his chromed thighs) and a dark purple torso, along with a black cranium. As Devastator's head and shoulders, Hook is primarily bright green, though Devastator's head is black with a chromed face and (usually) a visor.

Design Notes:

As I did with Perceptor, I have swapped the Speed and Skill scores for Hook, at least where his Fighting and Agility scores are concerned. I deviated from the process laid out in Transcribing Transformers to better model this fellow, and the actual focus of his skills.
