Origin:
One of the Transformers, Kickback is an electromechanical life form hailing from the rogue planet of Cybertron. He has numerous inherent powers that describe his physical existence, not to mention several powers that are relatively unique to him and his specific configurations.
Known Powers:
Cybertronian Physique: peacefully drifting through space in our general cosmic neighborhood, Cybertron is a metal-heavy rogue world where life has formed from such materials. Being one such entity, Kickback benefits from numerous powers that describe his physicality, including:
* Body Armor: whether he was formed or forged from assorted inorganic substances, Kickback is kind of durable. His bulk and dense, primarily metallic composition grants Kickback rank value 10 protection against assault, a defense which affects incoming damage as follows:
RV 10 / RV 4 / RV 0 / RV 0 / RV 0
* Growth / Shrinking: in his humanoid configuration, Kickback is twelve foot tall, which gives him a size factor of +1. When he transforms, Kickback can remain at the same approximate volume if he wishes. This is handy when wielding his various powers in combat.
However, Kickback can also shrink to the size of an average grasshopper. When at such a small volume, Kickback is but two and a half inches long, which gives him an effective size factor of -5. Of course, any stealth he manages at this size only lasts until his first kick.
* Microscopic / Telescopic Vision: Kickback's optics benefit from both of these powers, each of which functions with rank value 2 prowess. The former of these is especially useful when Kickback is at his minimum volume, as its ultimate magnification is bolstered considerably.
* Radio Transceiver: Transformers are often active in areas that lack a conventional atmosphere, such as the depths of space. As such, they all utilize an inherent radiowave transceiver that functions with rank value 20 ability, having a maximum radio range of 100 miles.
* Resistance / Invulnerability to Disease and Poison: despite his alternate mode, Kickback has no organic components to speak of. He benefits from complete immunity to carbon-based disease and toxins, reduced to rank value 100 against other forms of plague and poison.
Additional Limbs: in his grasshopper configuration, Kickback possesses six legs. Kickback can use them to run fast, raising the speed and duration when doing so as if the base determinant of each was +1 RS in value. He cannot use them to delicately manipulate objects, however.
Body Doubles (cartoon variant): when three Insecticons pool their abilities, they can each create perfect copies of themselves. Given enough matter and energy of the appropriate type, Insecticons can use this rank value 20 power to make up to twenty more of themselves.
Shape Change: his most infamous ability, Kickback has the power to transform at will between his humanoid and his grasshopper configurations. When he assumes the form of a grasshopper, Kickback unlocks several special abilities he can wield against others.
Super Jumping: Kickback features extremely powerful legs. As a conventionally sized grasshopper, he can leap with rank value 5000 ability, clearing 600 feet at that size. If he also deploys his wings, Kickback can essentially propel himself indefinitely on just one hop.
While he isn't overtly powerful, Kickback can use this ability offensively, kicking foes with staggering might. Regardless of his current configuration, he can bolster the amount of damage he inflicts with a kick by +4 RS, which can be quite the surprise when he's tiny!
Wings: whether used to augment his leaping or not, Kickback possesses powerful wings with which he can fly. He may do so with rank value 2 ability, but if he combines this with his leaping he can mostly glide to his destination, saving energy and avoiding mechanical stresses.
Limitations / Enhancements:
(none)
Equipment:
Exothermic Blast Tube: this advanced weapon can fire up to three hundred rounds per minute. It can discharge one to inflict rank value 10 Piercing damage, a short burst of such to inflict rank value 20 Piercing damage, or fire freely to inflict rank value 30 Piercing damage.
Quirks:
(none)
Skills:
Manipulation: Kickback is not a nice guy, but he's learned how to masterfully simulate being a warm, charismatic person - the better to sink his teeth into others at a later date. He should receive a +1 RS on efforts to manipulate others, whether beneficially or maliciously.
Performer: vile and selfish as they come, Kickback is an unrepentant sociopath. However, he has mastered the art of appearing friendly and likable to rubes. He should gain ten Fortune for each masterful performance he undertakes to bamboozle an unwitting sucker.
Contacts:
As one of the many Insecticons, Kickback can consider the Decepticons reliable contacts... for the most part. Assuming he hasn't succumbed to the temptation to work a given Decepticon under his thumb at some point in the past, they'll likely not leave him for dead when he's asking for it.
Likeness:
Kickback is primarily black in hue, regardless of his configuration. He features yellow antennae and purple legs in his grasshopper configuration, purple lower arms and feet, and a chromed face in his humanoid mode, and chromed wings in either of his forms.
Personality:
On the surface, Kickback seems like a great guy. He presents himself as amiable, helpful, and even goes out of his way to chat others up. Folks often can't help but converse with him, invariably revealing one or more things that they should've kept to themselves.
And that's when the true Kickback reveals himself. A vile monster, Kickback uses what he learns about his victims to blackmail them into doing his bidding, whether it involves working for him or betraying their allies, and ultimately slays them when they outlive their usefulness.
His skill set makes him a great spy, but precious few friends.
